They look Italian. Maybe these are the very first Italian immigrants in Pittsburgh.

What's so weird to me watching this video is that these are just all normal average people, but practically none of them would be considered attractive at all with todays standards. So many people nowadays have work done and look unrealistically good that its strange to see so many normal looking human beings who don't seem to care. Btw I'm not at all trying to shame any of these peoples appearances just acknowledging how extreme todays standards are.

I looked up the population of NYC at that time - FOUR MILLION! And the whole US had <90 million. Wow.

Just to think 90% or more of these people are gone now. Next it’ll be our videos of people wondering how each individual lived life. Time just keeps going. 🕰️

Employees would insert their paper time cards into the slot and turn the crank to record their time in and out. The machine would then stamp the card with the time, providing a reliable and indisputable record of work hours. The average worker back then got about 22 cents an hour.

The couple walking over the air vent were two actors. The entire scene was filmed this way on purpose. It was suppose to have been filmed in 1901 and titled, "What Happened On 23rd St."
@user-eb5cb6ud1p21 сағат бұрын
More that just "supposed* to". It was a skit filmed in 1901 by the Edison Co. for a quasi-travelog of NYC. It played off an actual quirk of the buildings' layout that created regular updrafts. Men would intentionally bring their girlfriends to the spot to see their reactions when their skits billowed. Reportedly it was so common that the cops had to shoo gawkers away from the, uh, "spectacle". I really want to know if it inspired the similar scene with Marylin Monroe ... (*) ... with a 'd' - past tense.

If you have proof a hll of a lot of history books are gonna have to be rewritten. Sorry, but these films are curated by the Library of Congress which makes it pretty unlikely they're all bogus.

Good try, but I would think the buildings would look much cleaner as they were probably built closer to the age of the film. The whole thing looks dirty and unappealing. I don't think these people lived in so much dirt. But I don't know.

Are you somehow saying the films are faked, like AI-generated? They're curated by the Library of Congress, which makes it pretty unlikely they're bogus.
