7:47 Thank you for actually describing how you took that connector off. I'm no mechanic by any means and couldnt figure out how to get that off for the life of me. No other video I looked at showed it or described how to remove it. I know you joked about it taking you 5 hours to get it off but that was an accurate time frame for me haha. Then I watched your video and got the connector removed in a few minutes. I appreciate the video and enjoyed the laughs

1st step is to always make sure to remove your fill plug first. If for some reason it’s stripped or broken and you didn’t notice you’re going to be what’s called “FUCKED”! At least until you figure it out or fix it. When making a how to video you should tell the viewer the size of the fasteners which on this vehicle is a 13mm for the cover bolts and can use a 3/8 extension or 3/8 square pipe socket for the fill plug… just clean it will before inserting it to make sure you do not strip or damage it.

I’m starting to get a weird crack-like noise from my jku ‘11 original tailgate-check when I fully open the gate. So I guess I’ll need to replace it soon. Two questions: 1) why does it break? I’m not even using a larger spare so no extra weight from original 2) what does it happen if the check is no longer there? Does it just prevents the gate to open beyond what’s expected, right? Or it’s there for something else?
@BootLegGarage7759 ай бұрын
Hi ya try and grease it that might help. and without the door check it will open up and hit the tail light.
