I just bought similar Kia Niro Ev (without heat pump) 2 weeks ago. I got 2300 km. It is just awesome! First time electric car I used maybe related with it but It has space, It has power, It has style. In Türkiye electric cars cheaper than ICE brothers. It was the first reason to choose an electric car. I can completely suggest Kia Niro Ev. Good review mate! Keep it up!

I would love to have automatic high beams in my car. I drive on a lot of windy wooded roads with deer and to be able to focus on driving instead of having to constantly worry about turning off my high beams so I don't blind another driver coming around a corner would be great.

It is my perception that to maximize ones energy usage and minimize one's battery anxiety, one needs TWO EV cars and a set of solar panels in the back yard to charge each car and swap cars every other day. Or have a bank of batteries in the garage to charge a car at night and recharge the garage bank during the day with the solar panels. In any case, the electrical power grid cannot support every car in the nation to be an EV. In CA we are experiencing some rolling blackout scenarios. Also the fire hazard in that lithium batteries must burn themselves out, along with the garage. Also a fender bender bump can total out the EV car, because of the possibility of a future fire issue. My property and house are 95% off grid and I use lead acid batteries because of the fire hazard. No EV for me until the battery technology changes from lithium to something safe.

Seems like 12V Flooded Lead Acid is a poor choice for EVs. AGM should be better. But I wonder if LiFePo would work as well.

You are mistaken, there is already a "transformer" that keeps the 12v battery charged; it's called a DC-DC converter.

The real problem right now is interest rates.. These higher interest rates really reveal how bad we are doing as an economy. What people don't realize is manufacturers are not on your side. They are on the side of making money. Gone are the days where simple cars were easily able to be fixed and stay on the road for over 10 years. These new vehicles are all junk and look like a little toy.

Hey Mikey! I agree, my "dream car" showed up at a dealer near me. it was a $99,999 German sports car produced in 2014, sold as a 2015. Now had 6 owners, 59,+++ miles, CPO and they're asking $68,999 plus tax, $430 in fees which is reasonable. If they give me avg trade for my car and I add $20K with a 8++ FICO score the payment will be $700/mo. I'll drag it out and if it doesn't sell by the 3rd week of the month I'll see how bad they want to move it.

The average transaction prices is falling, but only because the high-end vehicles aren't selling. What is moving are the lower to mid tier units. The $70,000 plus vehicles, mostly trucks and SUV's, is the problem at hand. There are the 2022 and 2023 leftover new vehicles too, that can't move to the high price and the dealer's lack of desire to heavily discount. Your points about negative equity (being underwater) and/or add-on and adjustments are valid but the consumer's desire to purchase vehicles that are $40,000 or less is driving the declining "average selling transaction" number that is buzzing the internet folks.......

We have a 17 Rogue we bought new. I heard the same scary stories regarding the CVT. Of course AFTER I bought the SUV….Sooooo what I have done to ensure longevity of the CVT I have simply serviced the CVT at the dealership at 30k and again at 60k. They charged me roughly $200 each time. So far we have 78k miles now and have had ZERO issues. I like your loaded Sentra! Beautiful interior!

the command 'py' is an alias. You can most probably run the command line properly by using 'python' in stead of 'py'. Since 'python --version' worked, this is your solution. No complex things about switching off things. Worked like a charm for me.

You said you'd keep us informed of the progress. It's almost 2 years later; you're overdue. I've had 2 Sentras, 2015 & the 2017 I have now. 3 days prior to my warranty expiration day, I got an oil change at the dealer. I told them the tranny seemed like it was slipping, as it would make a slight clicking noise when put in gear; like it had a little "play" in it, but nothing earth shattering. They said whoever changed the oil last time didn't put enough in it, as there were no leaks. I asked if they were sure, and they said yes. I then said, "So you're saying whoever changed the oil last tie is responsible"? He said, "Yes". I then said, "You were the last to change the oil, and you just told me you are responsible for the failure." The service manager looked in his computer and then said, "How would you like to drive an Altima for a week"? I said, "I wouldn't mind, why"? He said, "Because that's how long it will take to replace your transmission". I said okay and he gave me the Altima. I picked up my car and now I have a 7 year old Sentra that looks brand new (I'm an auto detailer) with 65,000 miles and a new transmission. Because of it's showroom quality condition, he told me they would give me every dime paid for it in trade for a new one. I declined; I don't want a car payment. I asked him why the oil light indicator didn't come on and he said he didn't know. I'm not sure if it was the oil or not; seems weird to me, but okay. Maybe it was something they didn't want me to know. Either way, the bill added up to be $5,200 and at the bottom was a balance due of $0. I love the Sentra as I cannot afford a better car, but because of the transmissions they use, I won't be buying another one. I'm buying a motorcycle to keep miles off of it because at 64, I do not plan on buying another car ever unless I have to. Living without a car payment is fantastic and since it looks new, I'm keeping it.

as long as you changed the transmission fluids every every 20 to 30,000 miles then you shouldn’t have problems with your transmission

Totally agree about the weight of vehicle and cvt. I have a 2021 and 2014 versa they have improved that cvt it’s much more responsive. Key for me get one under 15 k miles so you know it’s going to be serviced . Great car to hand down to my son the 2014 is still going same.

I never use lane assist because i dont trust it where roads lines are horrible. My ford lane assist loves to hug the right and adaptive cruise control makes me feel nervous. I will have to check and see how the kia is and compare.

At 20:00 you mentioned you could change the belt on the cvt if you feel slipping or loss of power....is it possible to replace just the belt on the cvt incase it breaks ? My mechanic told me you cant replace the cvt belt you would have to just get a new transmission ... is this true?
