What setting do I need to change in Console if I want to add an headphone amp with my UAD apollo x8?
@atalo5 күн бұрын
How can I add an Headphone Amp in the circuit/signal flow? I use the HDV 820 headphone amp. I have the Apollo x8. So from my Macbook via thunderbolt 3 to my uad apollo x8. From my Line out 1 and Line out 2 of the apollo x8, I go to the inputs L/R of my HDV 820 headphone amp. I use FL Studio as my DAW. And do i have to change something in the UAD Console software when adding a headphone amp in the chain?
@maddhousepro76595 күн бұрын
You have 2 excellent sources on the apollo, but from looking at the pics online, "you have 2 HeadPhones Out (HP1 & 2)" I'm assuming you can Cable one of the HP1 or HP2 to HDV 820. I don't have either piece of equipment you have...... Also read the documentation. I hope I was of some help.
@maddhousepro76595 күн бұрын
Also, I see a "Digital In" on the back of the HDV, I'm thinking you can use one of the. But read the documentation.

so how do I insert my plug ins into console and have them print to FL, without them being loaded into FL is that possible? also what the difference between virtual and analog mixers in console. does that mean virtual can use my MacBook resources? solo kinda limited on DSP. thanks
@maddhousepro7659Ай бұрын
1. The only plugins that can go into console are the UAD ones. 2. You have to set UAD console REC on your virtual channels, and run the audio from FL studio to the Virtual Channels, that allows console FX to be recorded back into FL studio. 3. If you are having DSP issues, don’t forget you can run some of the UAD plugins through FL studio

Hi, I just watched some videos. Why do you switch between FL Studio and Samplitude? Are you using FL Studio now, because you use the included sounds? Which version of FL Studio would you recommend?
@maddhousepro76596 ай бұрын
I try to diversify my knowledge of all DAW's. Samplitude is my main DAW, FL Studio is great for production, real easy!!! But I switch in between to help other that ask questions concerning FL Studio. I would always recommend the latest version of FL Studio, because they always add NEW things, which enhances the experience. But I know a lot of producers who likes Version 11. So, its really up to the users. If you purchase any version of FL studio, they have a legacy page that will allow you to download the older versions!!

That sounds amazing. Thanks for sharing. I am new to music making and are checking different daws, midi controller and all that stuff. To get this result, I need Analog Lab Pro with a Keylab Essential Midi Controller? Maybe you can give me some tips to choose the right Hard- and Software from your experience. I want to learn playing piano with a midi controller keyboard, to get a better understanding for music, to have access to other instruments and at a later time I want to create inspiring ambient sounds for podcasts, videos and experiment with my own music creations. I don't want a classic keyboard or piano, because my flat is very small and a lot of them in my price range i checked don't sound good. Maybe something with some controlling options like a nektar impact. First I wanted to buy a KeyLab Essential 49/61 mk3 but then I read in a test, that some buttons are not working in the tested configuration with cubase.

I can’t see my virtuals or anything in relation to my UAD Apollo
I am having an issue all of a sudden opening up kontakt in my daw. Every time I open it back up, it shows all my instruments using kontakt none of them will play without me unloading and loading back in the instrument which means it doesn’t save any of the changes I made on the instrument. Any reason it won’t load up ready to play? It even shows it’s playing on the meter but the sound isn’t playing until I load and unload it. A big hassle to do every time I open up my project to have to reload every single instrument.

You must've saved in a preset. Meaning everytime you open up your daw, it has a setting that you accidentally saved. Open up a fresh new session, start only with 1 Track then add

Does the UAD plugins work well in FL studio 21? I've read there is problem with latency, bounced track out of sync etc when it comes to UAD in FL studio.
@WilliamAshleyOnline4 ай бұрын
UAD plugins come in different flavors. Plugins that ship with the Volt 176 and I would guess Volt 1 work great in FL Studio except graphics need to be rescaled which requires you to manually change to whatever display type you want but this is just like one or two clicks, then I think it is suppose to be applied globally on your computer so if you only use fl studio no problem after you set it but if you run multiple daws display might need to be changed when you switch between them. That said the VST3 format plugins that ship with UADs volt devices are good plugins imo great tube emulation and pultec eqs etc.. can add a lot to stock sound if you know how to use a compressor and pultecs on stuff. The other third party bundled stuff is also of a good quality, that said it is not the DSP plugins the VST3 versions are "scaled down" to run on computers while UADs DSP processed stuff in the modern stuff actually runs through analog circuitry so that the emulation of the vintage hardware is actually using analog processing not fully digital emulation this is what makes UADs stuff better. I had a brief exchange about UAD on the imageline forum and they said it may be a future plan to make "fixed buffers" in the future that might make them more interoperable with UAD stuff which will be awsome. That said I think that the UAD stuff is still dreamy for the average FL Studio user due to the price point of UAD devices and plugins being in the $500 to $5000 price range basically studio grade UAD stuff puts an extra 0 on everything so imo unless you have bank its more or less for professional users. That said as fl studio is now 25 years and aging with lifetime updates there is a growing host of older fl studio users who have accumulated gear (and money) over the years such that using more professional gear is a larger user base, as well as as the DSP and plugins go onto second hand markets when people upgrade or move their stuff to estates. So UAD plugins come in different types the most integrated stuff will be their VST3 plugins. Hope this provides more info on this for you, perhaps someone else has more knowledge on this subject.
@wckoek4 ай бұрын
@@WilliamAshleyOnline thank you for your detailed reply. I guess the gist of it is there are still certain limitations and at the current point the target user base is different. I like FL studio from the aspect as a songwriter and I like the workflow even it wasn't viewed as a serious DAW platform. I hope it is possible to integrate the DSP plugin in the future.
@WilliamAshleyOnline4 ай бұрын
@@wckoekYes while UAD in concept is agnostic (non specific) when it comes to daws, as far as I am aware they tune their hardware to work bets on LUNA (mac only) for the "P level studio grade gear." FL Studio is a great daw but it is still developing features. FL Studio is expanding its plugin companitbility as far as I am aware to CLAP plugins in the current release or very soon, this is the big plugin news with FL Studio this year. As they do have more fix buffer supported planned in the future I would expect some future version of fl studio to play nicer with UA DSP but UA has also provided things like their Studio classics pack plugins in VST3 format that do not require DSP to use. So you can get pretty similar sound to a bunch of their plugins, but not all them, there are however often emulations in vst format for some of these - however the really high end stuff is very modeled to be like the original so requires DSP, so you can get a huge chunk of UA sound in VST format just that extra 5% of sound quality can only be gotten at a much higher price point but it is still a fraction of the equivolent studio hardware costs. There are ways you can integrated FL Studio with UA DSP but it might require running fl studio as a VSTI in another daw.

First off, thanks for the video. I've been shouting that Studio One - while is a great overall DAW, the sound is very mono and unexciting. Pro Tools, Luna, Cubase and Logic have a better stereo image. Yes, it can be subtle be listen to Studio One and then Pro Tools immediately, and you'll hear the stereo image collapse on Studio One.

There really is no difference. They all basically do the same thing. It's just a personal preference and how you develop your workflow. Unfortunately if you send your stems to a large studio it would be mixed and/or mastered in Pro Tools since that DAW is "industry standard". What I like about Studio One Pro is their separate Project(mastering) page. But basically they all are good. It's just how you work.
