Ok. So I recently Inherited a big box of cassettes from someone who owned a production/theatre Company in Edmonton during the 80’s and 90’s. The box is full of demo tapes and EP’s from musicians across Canada who were trying to make it as artists during that era. I assume they were either trying to get booked at a venue or get promoted by this guys company. Anyways, I’ve been slowly listening to them one by one. Most don’t even have anything written on them. BUT, deep in that box I found Kidd Country’s “Big Blue Lincoln” tape. Still had the plastic wrap. Buddy didn’t even open it. I did though. Out of the hundred or so artists I’ve listened to so far, these rowdy fucks are by far the best band. So cool guys. I hope you read this. I want you to know that that guy made a big mistake not opening your album. It’s great.

Thank you for posting this, Kevin -- practically the only studio recordings I had of my mom and dad were on the 7" singles laying around. I'd forgotten how amazing her voice was.

Your Mom and Dad were amongst my closest musical friends... I would drum for for her so she could go out front to sing when they were doing their duo.... we had a lot of fun together musically for sure.... you have your mom's looks and talent i see ... take care, Kevin

I remember that bus too. We bought it from you. I remeber buting a case of motor oil to feed the engine every 100 miles, or so. I remember cold, cold rides in the prairie winter. We loaded the bus up with a stack of old sleeping bags for half the band. I rode up front while Gary drove, so that I could let the heater blow warm air up my pant leg. That outdoor gig in the pic took place in Peace River, right? We did played the same park with Gary in 1978.

Thanks for the upload. Sorry to hear that Gary Smythe passed away on Feb 19, 2022. I played with him in the years not long after after this recording was made. His guitar playing mirrored his personality - super guy in the years when I knew him.
