No, the cap is not stretchable. You need to leave it on until it becomes impossible to continue, then remove.

The easiest way to get those bottom tabs on the lower grill part to go back in is to use a heat gun for about 8-10 seconds on each tab, works like a charm.

I noticed you don't use the heat gun much other than along the edges. So I have a question. After you lay the vinyl completely, do you use the heat gun over the entire surfaces to make sure the vinyl stays in tact?

You shouldn't need to use the heat gun that much when laying the film, only yo relax it after stretching. Then use the heat gun to post heat the edges. I don't show post heating because it's pretty much a given you need to do that all the time with wrapping. The more yhe material lies naturally on the surface the better.

If you wet sand the primer ro remove the dust and clean well with alcohol, it will stick no problem. No feedback from the customer that it's failed since installation. Nor the old camaro I wrapped that was full of filler.

That's usually the way, if you want the wrap to last you have to be methodical and all about the technique.

I followed your steps, for everything back in place but when I close the window it goes all the way up and comes down half way, do you know why ? I just cannot close the window now

I would retrace your steps. It's been a while since I did this. Is the window hitting an obstruction and signaling the window to retract?

@@moddingdog12 hi, it's not hitting anything, I guess it's something to do with resetting, it's a long process for a door handle created other issues.

did you clean with alcohol first? also helps to heat the part so it's flexible and contours to the wheel

what is the center piece you need to remove? im having trouble seeing exactly what everything is. u have all of my fasteners removed but am unable to get the lip off. the lower grille is still in. not sure if that matters.

remove everything including the grill. You will see a bunch of large tabs between the splitter and the bumper they all need to be pushed out. Kind of one slots into the other it's quite hard to see how it pieces together, doesn't look logical.

thanks, it will be done, I am that busy at the moment with other wraps I don't have much time to do my own. The mini taking a new direction and going a different colour. Stay tuned.!

Hello, we enjoyed the video as my daughter and I are trying to wrap a 2007 R-52. The tailgate is of course much easier for us since there is no chrome. (It lifts up and off of the tailgate being attached to the convertible top.) So my question is this: After you did your final “lockdown” heat-pass around the edge, how much material did you leave on the underside. Did you simply go to the seam where the outer skin wraps over the inner portion of the lift gate? Thanks for any advice. 👍

glad you liked the video, 1/4 of an inch is plenty of material to fold over the edge. Remember to post heat before cutting it and it will hold nicely. For extra measure you can always use sealing tape if it concerns you.
