I am now inclined to believe that Chao is the single best character in Ring Racers (well, when it comes to time attack anyways). Why is Chao so good anyways despite only having a speed and weight of 1?

They get the most rings from jackpots and the most speed from them. In a setting like time attack where you are always given ring boxes, they go zooming.

Congrats on your time also! Sub 1:40 isn't easy. During online play, I'm always struggling to get that shortcut at the start haha. Glad you like this track too tho it's my fav track in the game.

It's nice seeing this category get some love. How hard did you find Ultimate compared to any%?

I attempted this two years ago and struggled a lot. Got to black core 3 4 times and died every single time. With this record though, I got it on my first ultimate attempt stream! I'm better than I was back then so that helps but I think mainly what helped is knowing what my weak areas are so I could decide where to be safe and slow and where I can afford to play it risky and fast. Definitely a lot different than any% where you want to be just non stop speeding. Luck also helped a fair bit in the lasers in egg rock 2 lol.

Yep! I made it myself. It's mostly music from the Air Gear OST and some Jet Set Radio stuff.

What's the weird wind thing at 0:17 and how do you activate it?

Wavedash. So basically you want to sliptide and to sliptide you just tap the drift button and turn after you hit a boost panel or using sneakers. As you slip tide you will build up the tornado thing which is your wave dash. The wavedash is released when you stop drifting and you aren't under the effect of a boost.
