Ok couple of questions. First, great vid. Is it super shallow up in there. I own an Everglades 223 and wanna run up there. I am dying to catch some reds and I’m all over KZfaq trying to figure out how and where. Ran with a buddy last year you strictly uses live bait under popping cork and we caught. But I wanna catch on artificial too. Thanks for your time.

And you seem to be retrieving quickly. Do you find that to produce more bites ?
@jtjt482723 сағат бұрын
One more: at 5:38, the slam shady, you using like 1/4 ounce jig? (Sorry for all the questions, I’m just tired of losing 😂)
@Gillinit23 сағат бұрын
@@jtjt4827 there’s a lot of shallow areas, but there’s also a lot of drop offs that are 1-2ft deep leading to 4-6ft deep. If you run into an issue with depth by the flats, you can catch reds all over the bridges too!
@Gillinit23 сағат бұрын
@@jtjt4827 I like to retrieve quickly in the warmer months, but I’ll slow it down if I’m not getting bites or they’re missing it a lot.

As a boater (over 40yrs of boat owner experience and a USCG Vet) I agree that was a close call. It is way closer that the wide angle camera lens portrays it to be. The fact that they could clearly communicate with each other over the sounds of the outboard and water also lets you know that was a close call.
