Could you cover a bit about error handling when using defer and <Await />? I personally find there are gotchas when it comes to that especially if one wants to use the errorElement prop of the Await component provided by Remix

Will "React router v7" do SSR and keep everything from Remix? Sounds like all the branding that Remix had built over the years is going down the drain IMO

React router V7 is already doing pretty much everything remixed as except for the vite plugin. By moving the plug-in over to React router Remix is just fancy packaging around React router. So the team is going to use the remix package for something new and exciting coming in the future.

That won't work with the plans they have for Remix. They'll be actively developing new features for remix as a new package which you'll add if you want later.

First case seems to demand a sort of a valid form state, whenever I caught myself needing these, I always use useReducer. Instead of spreading the form mutation throughout the codebase, I gather all of the "business rule" and throw them at the reducer function. By doing this, only the reducer function mutates the state through dispatch, and protects it's validity, so you can create validations and constraints on demand by just adding new case/if statements. Since the reducer function is just a pure function, you can extract that and test it separately.

People are still getting licenses and getting a lot of value. There are some changes to some of the tools, but the principles are where the real value lies. I really liked this content, but I couldn't apply because I use typescript and TS-JEST, and it didn't got my configs automatically, so my test stopped in the first type declaration (not recognizing the TS)... Does someone know how to help me?

Yes you can, it has nothing to do with Remix. All remix cares is the formData and how you handle it on server side. Everything still remains the same on client side like typical react. The description of this video has examples on how to do it with S3 (which you can adapt to any storage service) .

Thanks for the video Kent, I have a question as well, what if I want an item to be pre-selected. like if useEffect hook is done fetching data from the server, I want that input box to be filled with a pre-selected data. the "initialSelectedItem" doesn't work for this scenario as it gets initialized before the useEffect hook gets the data.

Ey kent what do u think about esm/cjs interop? Do u think sometime we are gonna achieve that?. It s so difficult working with tranpiled esm, esm, or cjs modules, adding the node and babel-like interpretation.

I just try to do native ESM exclusively as much as possible and it gets better over time. Eventually it will be seamless.

I was literally wondering about the same approach from the past few days. As privacy is a major concern now, why not store the user data in their devices itself rather than in the cloud. I haven't seen any apps that have this choice.
