Hi! I really need to make a video for this! I wish Lexus gave us a car wash mode, but in the mean time: Here's what we recommend for going through a car wash: Select the shortcut menu (it looks like a little ice cube tray, but the "Climate" tab in the middle of the main screen), I like to turn off Parking Support Brake (PKSB) & Parking Assist (PKSA), then make sure to turn off the Auto Windshield Wipers. If you need to keep the car in Neutral for your type of car wash, you will pull the gear shift to the left (follow the arrows, toward the driver) and hold it in place until Neutral lights up. At the end of the car wash, you will apply the brake, shift into Drive and then you can turn your safety features back on before your drive. I hope this helps. Thanks for being here!

Hi. what model and year is your vehicle? And do you have NAV or a NAV subscription? That can change the clock, date & time settings. It is possible that the DCM fuse needs to be pulled to just reset the connection. You might need to see your service department to see if they can help.

Hi! I have a 2015 NX200t F-Sport, and I'm experiencing a delay when listening to Bluetooth audio. This issue doesn't occur during Bluetooth calls. When I receive a notification on my iPhone, it only plays in the car about 1 or 2 seconds later. Similarly, when I change music, there's a delay of about 1 or 2 seconds after pressing the button. Can you help me, please?
@NorthsideLexus
@NorthsideLexus 2 күн бұрын
Hi. Some delay is normal when you are changing sources and not all notifications are allowed to share to vehicle. Apple and Android made changes to the their Do Not Disturb & Focus settings in their operating systems. I would unpair the phone (remove the phone pairing from the car and the car from the phone's Bluetooth list of approved devices), power the phone off and back on, then repair the phone. Check any Focus settings for iPhone and any Do No Disturb while driving settings for Android. After that, if there is still any brief delay, it may not be able to be shortened any more. I hope this will help though. Thanks for being here.

You should have information on the climate control in the back on OVERTRAIL, that doesn’t have the a/c controls for second row !! PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

@NorthsideLexus 2 күн бұрын
Hi. Unfortunately, I did not have access to an OVERTRAIL at the time of filming and since this is just an intro video, it was not possible to cover everything like I do in a deep dive tutorial. Since the OVERTRAIL build is geared for off-roading and does not have a 3rd row, the rear climate controls are not independently controlled. All of the climate control is set from the front. If you are looking for a GX with Rear Climate Controls, make sure to look at a GX that is not an OVERTRAIL and that is equipped with the rear cabin climate option. Thanks for being here.

I just realized while parking my right mirror won’t tilt down. Yes, I made sure the settings were correct on the door. What’s even more odd, the left mirror tilts when the right and left button is pressed down.
@NorthsideLexus
@NorthsideLexus 5 күн бұрын
Hi! For cars with this feature, the tilt in reverse feature will tilt both mirrors when you shift into reverse, no matter if the mirror selector is on L or R. If neither L nor R are selected, the mirrors will not tilt. I recommend the following: apply the brake, put the vehicle in Reverse, adjust both mirrors to the position you want each of them in when you are reversing, put the vehicle in Park. If you have programmable side mirrors, these new adjustments will be saved. Make sure either L or R is selected, shift to Reverse to test. 👍

The issue is when I select L the left mirror tilts down when the car is in reverse. When I select R the left mirror is the tilting the right mirror isn’t. Basically the right mirror isn’t tilting at all when the car is in reverse.

Thanks for clarifying. I have a 2021 ES350 will that year still have Nav? Thanks
@NorthsideLexus
@NorthsideLexus 9 күн бұрын
Hi! Yes. The 2021 ES comes with a system called Dynamic Navigation. When that subscription expires your map will reset to the original map, since the cloud overlays will no longer be available to show and the updates remain in the cloud. You can subscribe to maintain the Dynamic cloud overlay version, but without it you will still have a map. It will just not be updated so things you may have seen with the cloud overlays will not be there any more, but the map will. I hope that makes sense. The new system has no map at all without the could connection. Big change.

Thank you. I did enroll in Enform. Lost that on my 2016 RX350 when 3G went away. 😢. So, to understand, I can still put in destinations and be guided to them. Just any new streets etc after 2021 will not be shown on map? Hope this is true. I could use Apple CarPlay, but like the onboard navigation screen. Thanks Again. Love your videos. 😀
@NorthsideLexus
@NorthsideLexus 6 күн бұрын
@@rugmankc That's correct. You can still use the NAV, it just won't be the updated version. It will default back to the map version installed at the factory when the vehicle was built. (Unless it has had a hard update from the dealership through a USB software update.) 3G connection going off line was such a disappointment across all manufacturers. When I had my non-NAV NX, I was very happy to use CarPlay. On my new 24NX, I like both CarPlay and the native Lexus Drive Connect NAV. (Especially after some updates on the new map screen. It is looking better and better.) It's nice to have choices 👍Thanks again for being here and for all of your support.

The same thing can happen if your passenger is using your phone to look at apps on the phone that show videos, like Instagram, Facebook, Amazon, etc. Basically the video interrupts the audio source connection and kicks off the radio and automatically selects the Phone as the audio source. I find that using the Audio Mode button on the steering wheel helps me quickly change sources and get back to the radio. I hope Lexus and Apple will get this worked out. How come my 2024 RX350h only allows me put in 13 gallons of gas? Also, the display only shows 450 mile range. Lexus shows 17.2 gallons, with 600+ range.
@NorthsideLexus
@NorthsideLexus 10 күн бұрын
Hi! There is usually a 3 - 4 gallon reserve on Lexus vehicles, that is why you aren't able to put the same volume of fuel in the tank, it is not completely empty. Also, the range you are seeing seems normal for the 350h, you may also see it adjust up or down depending on the fuel type, your driving style, cargo weight in the vehicle, tire inflation, even the temperature in your area. I have not ever seen anything with 600+ for the range. Unless maybe on a Plug In Hybrid at the very first calculation. It usually takes a few tanks of fuel for the systems to learn and more accurately calculate the projected range. So early calculations are always higher, because there is not enough data in the system for it to project more accurately yet. Thanks for checking in.

Hello, I have two separate car keys and two separate mobile phones. 2023 Lexus NX 350... I am trying to setup two separate profiles where the car will automatically associate a profile with a specific phone based on the key that is used to start the car. Unfortunately my dealer doesn't know how to make this configuration happen.. Any advice is approximately. Thank you
@NorthsideLexus
@NorthsideLexus 10 күн бұрын
Hi! No worries. Here are the steps I recommend for having multiple profiles on the vehicle: 1. Make two separate Lexus app accounts. (You must have separate email address and cell phone numbers for this to work. You can use the same password and 6-digit PIN to simplify life though). 2. Using the Lexus app account that you want to be the primary account: follow the steps to set up your Primary driver profile, add the VIN to the app garage, pair the phone, link the selected key. 3. Using the secondary Lexus app account, follow the steps to add an additional driver profile. You will not add the VIN to the Lexus app for additional driver profiles. Only the Primary scans the VIN, can see the Remote features in the app, and has control over the connected services. Pair the phone, link the other key to this profile. When you exit the vehicle, make sure you lock the car. The carrying only the key for the profile you want to be active on the car, unlock the car from the Driver's door handle with the smart access system. (Just place your hand in the door handle.) This will allow the car to see the registered key, identify the profile, select it and connect to the phone attached to that profile. If you have to carry both phones with you, you may want to just pair both phones to your primary profile. One can be connected for Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and the other can connect for Bluetooth only. You can switch the connection type in the Bluetooth & Devices Settings menu. If you are carrying both keys and both phones, it may not be able to jump from one profile to the other, so you may need to go to Settings > tap on the name of the profile you want to be active > enter the 6-digit PIN for that profile. Important tip: When switching profiles, the seat memory does not automatically move the seats, you do have to press the button to move the seats. So make sure you have the seats saved for the profile you want while that profile is active. I hope this helps. Thanks for tuning in!

As always, thank you for all your hard work with these incredible video tutorials. They are so informative!! I had a quick question and I couldn’t really find it anywhere online or in manual. For the PHEV like the 2024 RX 450H+, can you charge it all the way to 100% daily? I know for pure EV vehicles, manufacturers always say stay around 80% for routine daily local commutes, and only charge 100% occasionally for longer trips if needed. All this to preserve battery. But I believe I heard somewhere that Lexus has already built in buffer logic where 100% charge is still safe for battery since it has a buffer to not overcharge?? Not sure if this is true?
@NorthsideLexus
@NorthsideLexus 2 күн бұрын
Hi @ONI1013 Sorry for the delay! It is perfectly OK to charge the PHEV battery to the max it will allow. From what I understand, the engineers have designed the software to not allow the battery to full charge to help prolong battery life. Just as you had mentioned. The only big tip I have about the PHEVs is to make sure you let the gasoline engine kick on periodically, allowing the vehicle to run in hybrid mode. This helps to make sure the gas doesn't go stale and the fuel pump and other ICE components stay in good working order. It is tempting and kind of fun, to try to max out the EV operation and "never have to use the gas," but unfortunately it is not good for the system. I hope this helps! So glad to have you here!
@ONI1013.
@ONI1013. 2 күн бұрын
@@NorthsideLexus Thanks so much for the helpful tips! Yes we do love driving locally and never seeing the gas tank move, but you’re absolutely right. Heard the same thing about using the gas once in a while for gas to not go stale. Also, heard it’s good to drive on freeways once in a while with any ICE cars, as local stop/go driving tends to increase rate of carbon build up, and wear and tear faster. Lastly, not sure if you heard this, but on the newer RX450H+ and NX450H+, there’s an abnormal amount parasitic drain on the 12V Battery. Many people on forum reported having a dead battery after leaving the car parked for 3-6 days without driving it. I also experienced this within first 10 days of ownership. We had left car parked for about 4 days without driving it, and found battery dead. Had to jump start it. I believe Toyota is aware and researching if possible software update may help 12V battery charging modulation logic. Hasn’t happened since, but we keep out keys and phones away, and make sure to never use ACC only mode, and drive it once in a while. Hope info helps. ✌🏼

@@ONI1013. I have heard a couple of other people ask me about this, and had a guest go out of town for two weeks and his hybrid would not start. The accessory battery had died. I'm hearing more and more people recommend battery minders for longer term travel, but two weeks or less seems a bit much. I'm glad you are not dealing with that now and hope they can figure it out. I know people who leave their keys near by have issues with the car and key batteries. Smart devices trying to talk to each other, so I'm glad to hear you know that as well. I would also consider turning the ACC Customize to On. That means the car needs to be on to run accessories (like leaving the screen and radio on after turning off the car.) Not 100% sure that would help, but worth a try. The car also uses low energy Bluetooth to communicate with the phone as you approach the vehicle. It helps the car "see the driver profile, etc." I'm sure they are looking at all of that. Thanks for all of your info!

I've watched hundreds of reviews on vehicles - I've bought 24 vehicles in the last 7 years alone - this review is simply the most comprehensive and incredible. No other even close. The facts and detail presented to us - in a clear, concise manner - is not taken lightly by me. It is what EVERY manufacturer should have for the customer in their delivery package of instructions. Especially with new vehicles and technology now requiring an advanced stage of knowledge for owner-operators, and is almost mandatory for the vehicle to be paired with their cell phone app (if they even possess one). I'm 79 years old and pretty tech competent, but many my age are not. No question. Vehicles to be understood and fully utilized are becoming more than the average person - especially my generation - can handle. I can only imagine what vehicles AI will require a half-gen from now of owner knowledge for semi to auto driving modes. It's mind boggling.

The low doesn't bother me as much as the muffled sound directions. When I use the phone connected via Bluetooth for streaming anything else, the sound is perfect, clear and loud. This cut-off and muffling only happens when using Apple Maps. I'd appreciate any advice to rectify this situation. It's extremely frustrating. Thanks very much!

Hi. I'm sorry to hear that. The clipping you're experiencing is a known issue with Bluetooth connected nav apps and it can better or worse depending on which app you're using and if the audio for navigation is selected to "Play as a Bluetooth phone call." It take a second for the audio to come through on the Bleutooth phone connection rather than the Bluetooth audio connection. I would recommend deleting and reinstalling any nav app, then also select Bluetooth Audio as your audio source so the sound from your nav app will come straight through the system with the phone call version delay. I hope this helps.

@@NorthsideLexus Hi Melissa. Thanks very much for your reply. I followed your directions on your initial video and the first part of your response. I'm still having the same problem. Here is what I did in order: 1) Deleted my 2015 Lexus Ct200h pairing from my iPhone 13. 2) Deleted my iPhone from the Lexus Navigation system. 3) Added my iPhone back on the Lexus Navigation system. 4) Deleted Apple Maps App from my iPhone. 5) Added Apple Maps App from the App Store to my iPhone. 6) Drove around and the same clipping issue occurred. The first 3-5 seconds of EVERY directions command are cut off. When the directions are audible, the screen shows the phone icon and it appears the Lexus Nav system is treating this as a "call," as when the direction command ends, the Navigation screen shows "Call Ended." In your response above, you mention to "select Bluetooth Audio as your audio source so the sound from your nav app with come straight through the system with the phone call version delay." I'm a bit of a newbie and don't know how to do this. I'm hoping perhaps that's the last step to solve this issue, but I have no idea how to set this last part up. Could you please give me step-by-step directions on how to do this element of the set-up? If easier, perhaps I can e-mail you directly or speak with you so we can do together to solve this problem? It's incredibly frustrating, as I use Apple Maps constantly for my work and I'm really hoping your advice will correct this situation. Thank you so much Melissa!

Update. When I select Bluetooth Audio as my audio source, which I figured out how to do, I do not have access to my Lexus radio stations/choices, which I want to utilize. I want to be able to use the Lexus radio as normal and have it interrupted with un-clipped audio directions from Apple Maps from my iPhone. Is this possible? Thank you.

@@jeffwess7717 Hi! Unfortunately there are only two ways to get the audio from Apple Maps or any other navigation app to play through the system on a 2015 CT (or any other 2015 Lexus model). One way is to use the Bluetooth phone connection, which will play as a Bluetooth call and is currently having the clipping issue you mentioned. You can try Google Maps or Waze and see if they work better through the phone's Bluetooth connection. This is the only way to be able to use the Lexus radio and have audio from the navigation app. Basically you are asking the car to use two different audio sources and it can only do one at a time. So you are playing the radio through the system and allowing the navigation instructions to interrupt that like a phone call would. The only other option is to select Bluetooth Audio as your source, which is how audio from apps on our was was originally intended to be heard. This will not have any clipping, but all of you audio will need to come from the phone, because the car can not also play the radio at the same time. They are separate sources. You can, however, use the navigation app and play music from your phone. You can use a music app, or a radio app like iHeart Radio or SiriusXM, to listen to the radio and navigation all from your phone. I hope this helps.

Hi. Any idea why the "Driver Break Suggestion" option on my RX 350 premium+ gas doesn't save? I've turned it off but it's on again on the next Start. Thank you!

Thank you for this video. I'm coming from a 2015 Camry (that served me well) to a GX 550. I was learning the settings as I go, but this by far helped me out so much more. My Camry didn't have this technology and I am clueless.

Thanks so much for tuning in! I am still chipping away at filming and editing in any spare time I can get. We have been so busy at the store with the GX launch, but I am working on part 2 for the TX as much as I can. I really appreciate your support! In the meantime, add your additional driver profile from the main settings screen (make sure you don't select to make them the primary, but you should select the phone as their "primary device" when you are pairing for Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto). Then make sure to link the selected key for each profile, and save the driver position memory for each profile. I like to save the primary to button #1 (on all profiles) and the secondary to button #2 (on all profiles). This will mean that no matter which profile is active on the car, the seat memory buttons will really the position you want. The way the designers programmed the seat memory function is really confusing. I have also noticed that the seats will not move automatically when you are changing from profile to profile. You always have to press the button. Even when the profile changes correctly :( We have given a lot of feedback to Lexus about this and hope they change it in the future, but hopefully these tips will help you for now. Thanks very much for being here!

Did i hear you right? Every 6 Months you must do a service in the US? And every 5000 Miles again? Wow that is insane. In Europe it is once a year or every 15.000KM /10.000 Miles
