@BM22TechReview11 күн бұрын
Yes, these are. But one of the big problems with buying these on ebay, is that they are made in chinese factories, and can often be fake. In this case, I'm sure it is labradorite, but it was not the piece shown in the pic when I bought it. In many cases, the item will not even be the same stone they are advertising as "natural." Often times they will use various dyes on them, to pass off lessor minerals as move valuable pieces. Sardonyx is fairly common faked item. I recently bought two of them, and I'm hopeful they are real. The only way to know for sure is to cut it in half and see if the color is throughout the entire stone.

In the case of these, not exactly "lewd." But certainly, a Hollywood rag. Unlike that old issue of Scream Queens I showed, everyone in these keeps their clothes on. This is more like the People magazine from the 1980s and 90s. Hollywood gossip, celebrity promotion, and general fluff promoting the movie industry to the adoring public... i.e. Hollywood rag😁

@BM22TechReviewАй бұрын
It could just be a natural color variation. But also, there are several spiders from the desert that are close to each other, but actually come from different locations and therefore from different families. The Israeli Desert Huntsman (Cerbalus Aravaensis) comes only from the Arava region of Israel along the border with Jordan. But there is also a nearly identical spider called the Desert Huntsman which can be found in Egypt and around that region. And then there is that more "cream color", but otherwise identical spider called the Dancing White Lady Spider (Leucorchestris arenicola) found in the Namib desert of Namibia, and that spider is commonly sold in the USA. And it is very close looking to the Wheel Spider (Carparachne aureoflava) also from Namibia. BTW I've seen this exact spider being called 3 or 4 different names, and one retailer has it labeled under two different names on their website (the same freaking spider).
@bigba1782Ай бұрын

Is there a way to clean the water basin. No matter how much I vacuum there is always hair and once it gets in the basin I'm having the hardest time cleaning it out. I'm just afraid that is what I would inadvertently do if I pull. Any help would be appreciated

I've not found a way to clean it any better than you are doing. I put some soapy bleach water in it, shake it around a bit, and then rinse it out. At least that way, everything left inside is germ-free and does not stink😁 In the big scheme of things, this is a device used to clean things, often some pretty nasty things, so I simply became content with it not being completely clean itself.

@BM22TechReviewАй бұрын
It did, and I did make a video about it. But did you really expect to see an entire 3-5-week process, in just one video? The main point here, is that you can use a brass tumbler to polish rocks. And the rocks essentially hold their basic shape, rather than being tumbled into tiny pebbles in a drum polisher. Of course, they won't retain as much of their original shape as they do when using a cabbing machine, but until recently I didn't have a cabbing machine.

How long has the bowl lasted you on this? I got one from harbor freight. The bowl has torn apart in a week!!!
@BM22TechReviewАй бұрын
I bought this on Amazon, and it is a name brand rather than a Chicago Electric? Harbor Freight is great for some things, and now I know it's not good for rock vibrating. I do have a Harbor Freight rock tumbler (drum style), and that lasted a couple of years before it croaked. I have 2 of these rock vibrators, the first has about 300 hours on it, and the other only has about 60 hours. The bowls are getting a bit scratched up and stained, but still solid. The problem I did have, is that a couple of nuts/bolts vibrated off, and it took a bit to figure out where they went 😁

Hearing the prices you pay for exotic spiders is quite cheap Vs what I see going on in Oz. Prices here shot up during Covid as 'pets' of any kind became all the rage. The prices never relaxed back to normal. But hey that happened to just about every price sting that Covid induced.
@BM22TechReview2 ай бұрын
One of the things that keep these so cheap, is that it's a national market. I used to get black widows from Arizona, now I get them from Florida, and the tarantulas are coming from Virginia. With a nationwide customer base, it makes it more cost effective. And with FedEx and UPS overnight shipping, it really extends the reach of the retailer. And I'm not exactly sure how much population has to do with the lower cost. Being that the US population is higher than that of Oz, it allows retailers to take advantage of economy of scale with such a large nationwide customer base. Additionally, there are really no laws governing the sales of venomous spiders and such. Exotic dangerous mammals and reptiles, yes...but not so much for spiders, centipedes, and scorpions. The funny thing is, there are laws about sending bugs; that's only due to the potential risk to crops from certain bugs.

And not what you want to be known as number one for. At least the crime isn't as bad there, as in the s-hole cities around here. The crime keeps growing worse, but the people keep voting in the politicians that are letting the criminals out of jail (to commit more crimes) and this whole "no-bail" thing has dangerous people being arrested, booked, and released without sitting in jail until they at least see a judge...and this is of course so they can commit more crimes.

The water thing with spiders is weird. I didn't believe it until I saw spiders going to get a drink once you add a cotton wet area for them to sip at.
@BM22TechReview2 ай бұрын
I can understand larger spiders needing water, that makes sense. But black widows and redbacks needing water was a new concept for me. And yes, I took your advice and all of my spiders, including the widows and huntsman spiders now have tiny water dishes. At first, I was using plastic bottlecaps, but now I've moved on to those "fancy" water dishes being sold on Amazon as actual spider water dishes. And as you've seen in some of the tarantula videos, I've had to upgrade to the next size up, because the tarantulas drink so dang much.
