Thank you so very much. It means so much to me that you are even looking at my work. You were my inspiration for getting started in doing this form of art and I certainly try (although I have so far to go), to pattern much of what I do off of all that I have learned from you and your outstanding videos. You are a true master of your art. I always look forward to what you will do next and what else I will learn from you. Stay safe.

@@Guildofthegildedhilt Thanks for the nice words! It gives me great pleasure to know that my work inspires you. I also feel responsible to people for what I do on my channel. Unfortunately, the situation I am in now does not allow me to do my work to the extent that I would like. Once again I wish you success! Best regards, Kirill.

how long does it take to create this masterpiece?

Thank you for the kind comment. I worked on this axe for about a month, but if I counted actual hours I would guess about 60-80 hours.

What you use to transfer bakers paper

I use regular tracing paper I bought on Amazon. After drawing my original image I trace it onto the tracing paper then flip the paper over onto the blade and trace the image again from the back side of the tracing paper. This forces the soft lead onto the painted blade.

This is amazing work! I have a couple questions. 1. What is the “resist” you are using for white? I see the red was nail polish? 2. How long do you let it sit for each layer? Thanks! Hope to see more videos!

Thanks for the kind comment and taking time to look at my work. The white resist is rustoleum spray paint for metal. I etch the blade for about fifteen minutes before spray painting the resist on (it helps it adhere). Each layer is etched for 45 minutes to a little over one hour depending on how deep I want a particular layer to bite into the the metal.

I am not certain which part of making this blade you are looking for details on so I will do my best to give a quick overview. Once I shaped the axe head I sanded it to a 240 grit. Next I put it in ferric chloride for about 15 minutes before painting it with spray paint. The quick acid bath helps the paint to adhere better. I slowly remove the paint in stages as I want certain areas of the the design to be cut deeper into the steel. I remove paint with hardened steel needles. (You can buy these but I make my own from sewing needles for the fine detail work.) After each stage of removing paint the blade goes back in ferric chloride (Usually for about an hour). Once I am done with all the etching stages, remaining paint is removed with acetone. To achieve the darkening and shading I used cold gun blueing for this blade. I left it on for about five minutes and then carefully wet sand the blade with 2000 grit paper to achieve the desired look. I hope this helps. I showed more of the steps I mentioned above in my latest video, Making the Chimera. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y599i5dey9eUc6M.html Thanks for the question. I will try to give better detail in future videos.
