I would like to be a tattoo artist but I don't know how to draw. Do Amazon machines work for practice? I'm Dominican and professional machines are very expensive here. Do those from Amazon help?

Please learn how to draw first, you will spend sooooo much more money trying to learn how to draw by practicing tattooing. Yes these machines work great for practicing. But again please learn to draw, just spend your money on pen/pencil and paper for at least a year learning how to draw everyday before you even start practicing tattooing.

I’m sorry to hear that, no I haven’t had any issues with shipping from them. Usually their support is good, sometimes they don’t answer between Friday-Sunday and will get back Monday.

It works for the first couple of times you get the clogs, but with this printer it did eventually stop working because I did not print from it often enough. The Canon printer does seem to be working better and longer than this one and it has a replaceable print head.

Query, is the motor brushless, or am I wrong, is it comparable to the motor of the Bronc v12?

I do believe it is a brushless motor, it runs very smoothly with low vibration, it is not as powerful as the V12 motor. For around the same price as this one the Yilong F8 has a much stronger motor.

Hey I have one and I’m using spirit classic thermal paper and I don’t see the stencil outline, unless I do it backwards and if I try to stick it to reel skin it only shows when the tattoo stencil outline is backwards and not straight…pls help!

Hi Floaty! Thanks so much for your great reviews! I just purchased the Yilong ATS886 and received it yesterday, and am loving the quality of the printer so far. I do however am having a little bit of an issue with getting the tattoo to print true to size. I don’t think it’s a printer issue, but the app issue. I tried both re-sizing and manually entering the dimensions I want, but the picture comes out a few inches smaller than what the app. says it should be - any tips to fix this issue? I was also wondering how you were able to put multiple pictures in one sheet as I know the app doesn’t allow you to put multiple pictures on one sheet before you print. Sorry for all the questions. 😆

Hi, Happy to help! For sizing they just updated the app since I even recorded this video so I will have to get back to you on that, there used to be a button that allowed you switch between something like adaptive or true to size, but I don't see it anymore since the update. I get all of my images on one sheet in Procreate and then export them for printing.

I bought this printer because of your video, was waiting for it 40 days, it’s never came. They didn’t gave any documents that they send it to me even after request. I requested a refund. And now they stopped answering me. It’s a scam and they stole my money.

I'm very sorry to hear that, this doesn't seem like what I have heard from others who have had returns and refunds from Yilong with no issue. I just checked their website and it looks like they are out of stock of the RTP. After further testing I actually recommend the original 886 over the RTP, I will be putting out a comparison video very soon. You might want to ask if they can send you the original 886 instead?

This is a great video. Very informative and explanatory. I've been watching a lot and doing some research in general to get started. I wanted a decent kit that had a good machine to use after I practice until I can get another one maybe of higher quality and use this one for back up or maybe it's just good enough and I would get another one similar for a back up just in case. Don't want to be stuck half way through. I know I'll need better ink and stuff before going to skin but this looks like a great deal to start. You have a beautiful reflection by the way. Will look forward to seeing more of your videos, hope your having a great day. 😃

Do you prefer adjustable stroke or fixed? I’m trying to decide and can’t for the life of me decide between the archer S and the mast fold pro!! Help!!!! I know that each one has its own pluses and setbacks but for an overall machine being used for mainly black and grey work which one would you recommend? Because now I’m watching this video after falling down the rabbit hole !!! 😅

I know this question wasn’t meant for me but for the past few months I’ve been using an Archer S and an adjustable stroke machine (DK Lab Mizar) I find myself going back to the Mizar over and over again. For me personally the Archer S feels so lightweight that the 4.2 stroke doesn’t feel as punchy bc you have to apply added pressure due to how light it is. The Mizar ranges from 2.7-4.5 stroke which is exactly the range I wanted. 4.0 on a lot of machines doesn’t hit hard enough for a machine with those styles of motors. Also liked that it came with two batteries and an RCA adapter. Hope this helps. I will say this is the only adjustable stroke machine I’ve used so I can’t say whether it’s better than a fold pro or fold 2 pro.

Also Floaty…if you ever felt like reviewing the DK Lab Mizar I’d love to hear if you feel it’s up to par with other adj. stroke machines since you’ve used and reviewed several. You’d also be the first English speaking review for it I believe from what I’ve seen. I’ve had zero issues with it so far. Actually sort of love it other than the pain of properly wrapping an adjustable stroke machine.

These are good points, I agree that the Archer S is a bit too light weight, having a bit of weight definitely helps with lining. I prefer adjustable stroke machines, they are mostly all I use these days other than the bishop liner wand for the 5mm stroke to run 9RL+. If they made an adjustable stroke machine from 3-5mm I would not need that one anymore. I tested 1 DK lab machine and it was not very good, it had a very weak motor and was not very stable, I did not give them a good review so I don't think they will be sending me anymore machines.

@Gumballmike I greatly prefer adjustable stroke for the versatility. The Fold Pro 2024 is a great machine, this P3 Pro is pretty great too, very smooth running swiss motor.
