@@ifishcatfish Do you have any other soft plastic artificial baits that you recommend besides the trout magnet?

i dont recommend the trout magnet any more. They shrunk it and made it thinner. My #1 plastic is the Black color LarvaZ from Zman. Please open the description and check the 2 videos that show what lures i use and what lures the customers use

A very good trip to my way of thinking. I lose some now and then but it’s part of the game. In Tarpon fishing I was told not to expect more than one or two out of twelve. I’m liking the rod a lot but have too much going on at the moment. Hopefully they’ll be available when I’m ready. Looking forward to your next installment. Watching you was all the fishing I got to do today…….Tim

What about shimano stradic sir? why don't you recommend it?

this is an Ultralight reel buying guide. Stradic is a great saltwater reel but not an ultralight reel. Its heavy, has resistance because of the seals, just doesn't feel ultralight

Awesome day on the water - I have not switched to braid yet LOL - Always fun catching fish on the UL - that last fish looked like a hybrid smallmouth/spot mix - catch you later👍🎣👊

do u ever use hardbaits? i wanted to ask cus u always use soft plastic and i believe they work better than hardbaits but do u use any micro jerkbaits or not?
@ifishcatfish
@ifishcatfish 17 сағат бұрын
you are right, i don't believe in hardbaits, except for trolling. Sometimes i troll with 2 rods for bass or trout to have some fun with the kids and hard baits work better for that

The tackle you are fishing with is not designed for such loads. It looks beautiful, but I wouldn’t put so much strain on the twigs and mechanisms. This is just my opinion.

i actually agree with that. I said the same thing in this episode or the next. This is not my reel, i couldn't catch anything else and wanted an interesting video.. But i wouldn't fish for bass every day all day with 1000 size body reel

Best colors for trout is black, bison, black/green,pink. If theres a hatch going, bison and black/green will generically match whatever is hatching. For when theres no hatch going on i use bubblegum pink, and all black.

Be careful! All the bass anglers with 60 rod and reels from medium to extra heavy power with 10-30lb braid and heavy frogs, chatterbaits, crank baits, weighted jigs, etc… will say this isn’t real Also where’s your 60k dollar bass boat? Also why didn’t you let the fish swallow it and set the hook with enough force to rip a 4 inch hole in its lip and bounce it across the top of the water?

Hi Victor, great video :) I have the opportunity to get my hands on the bigger model, the Bellezza UX 652UL 0,5-7g. What do you think, will it be a good for slightly bigger lures like 2-4g ?
@ifishcatfish
@ifishcatfish Күн бұрын
I think it will be a great rod, but DIFFERENT. Every model has a different action and different Taper. U can see on their website the taper is different. That doesn't mean bad, i think its still great, but don't expect the parabolic action i described

I dont know why these reel spools are shallow fat ones when the ones on sale have only conventional deep spools and with only daiwa and shimano.I thought you said the you said earlier the Sahara as too heavey for ultralight ,like my Sedona is a brick too.Its very hard to find a reasonablly light shimano at a good price except for the Miravel the other would be the more pricey Ultegra which is good but a bit heavier.The Okuma Ceymar and Tsurinoya Lanius is even lighter and reasonable prices than those you showed here.
@ifishcatfish

And Kastking Kestrel is even lighter than those. But does not compare in terms of feel..

I may also like to add that even the more expensive reels over a hundred bucks you took apart was interesting to see there was plastic gears and plastic bushings and soft aluminum in the moving parts that look like they should be in in a very dollar store.And perhaps I'm thinking these parts are smooth feel to it but for how long before they fall apart.Rather I have a coarser feel with nice hard stainless steel or hardened brass gears than a a high class looking toy with smooth plastic parts in the gears.The housing made of carbon ok but never that in the moving parts.

I bought two new rods one for float and one for ultralight .Looking for reasonable prices reels but I cant find a good one for ultralight because they either have a super cheap poor quality crappy reel or a super expensive Japanese imports when it comes to ultra lights with shallow spool ones for that new fibre braid thin wire.Theres no shallow spools in North America?How did you get the Shallow spools on the cheaper reels you have .I cant find it on the same models .Did you get a spare spool from somewhere and fit it into the North American version?

I refuse to get heavy bass rigs because it takes the fun out of everything. I don't understand how people can like something that sucks the joy out of fishing! To each his own I guess. Great day of fishing as always, and thanks for saving me money on those expensive Keitech's made of recycled tires! 😂

The thing about that is the technique being used. You wouldn't throw a frog on 2lb ester line on a ul set up in lilypads. I love my ul set ups but only in open water. I have lost plenty of nice jdm lures and jigheads becaused a 1-2lber just happen to take me into the only small weeds around the area. While losing tackle is apart of fishing, I would rather minimize my losses. The heavier set ups opens another realm of spots to fish. I would love to see UL purist fish punching areas and tell me they will be happy fishing those areas.. Instead of the joy coming from landing the fish, it comes from watching it blow up on a bait or feeling how hard the fish smacks a crank. A lot of big bass comes out of fishing the ugliest and thickest muck sometimes. Ethically wise now, its kinda hard to argue for heavier gear, as it does tend to mess up fish lips with how hard some people be swinging.
