I am a 2022 Bobber owner who bought a used 2018 T120 that had very low mileage and was garage kept. The T120 stole my heart and made me forget my Bobber because of the seat comfort and overall handling. I wanted my twin boys to fall in love with Triumph motorcycles so I gave the Bobber to one of the boys and the T120 to the other. I am awaiting some funds to purchase a newer T120 Black and can honestly say I miss the Bonnie more than I thought I would and absolutely can’t wait until I get another one 💔

Everyone is saying, that i should buy a smaller bike around 400-600cc as my first bike. Except my dad. His first bike was a Yamaha bulldog. So, it's nice that someone else is saying the same thing.

@@guythatnooneknowsabout7472 from my own experience I would never recommend someone to get a smaller bike unless I had doubts about their riding skills. I learnt on a 600cc and power wise it felt just as fast, the only difference for me when I got this was the weight but you soon get used to it

Question... how smooth are the engines. Im used to 4 cylinders and love a T120 i saw today... the salesman said the engine is like butter. I used to have a ducati L-twin and struggled with the vibrations

I just bought a speed twin but I was in doubt with the t120 (and still I am) cause they are really great bikes. I ended up with the ST mainly because of the agility and riding style, more responsive, more aligned with body movements and the overall agility of the bike. Torque is there for both bikes, I agree there is no significant difference on that (unless you really push them hard, and there it’s where the sporty soul of the speed twin shines compared to the t120, even though it’s visible from the 4000rpm). Sometimes I still feel like I should have picked the t120 cause I’m 180cm tall and I think that the ST it’s a bit small for me compared to the t120, but that’s maybe just a bias. The t120 is heavier and in the city I could feel it, that was also something that made the difference to me. Nice video anyway and great triumph bikes!

Nice video guys, thanks for that. On holiday in Sweden last week and I went into a Triumph dealer because I was interested in having a closer look at the ST. Saw one and it was lovely but then saw a T120 black with some tasty upgrades. The new owner was in there and he actually tipped me off about this channel. 🙂 Long story short, the T120 caught my eye and your video has just convinced me that this is the bike for me. Cheers from a Brit, living in Germany who likes to holiday in Scandinavia!

Starter bike should be what you feel like you can handle and then proving yourself right. To assume everyone is on the same level would be wrong. T120 is the perfect starter bike, if thats your confidence levels. I love that for you bro ❤

It’s a good question and I was close to doing that. However for roughly the same price I wanted to get a bike that I wouldn’t “outgrow” I feel if I get a T100 after a few months I would be ready for a larger bike. I’ve done some massive trips on the T120 and I feel the T100 would fall short on here

@NoPlaceToBe.
@NoPlaceToBe. Ай бұрын
hi mate, MPG you are looking at around 60 which is pretty good. Really doesn't cost much to keep running. The biggest expenses are the standard annual service and insurance which is the same for any bike. Never had any issue with the engine heat. Should be a solid bike for both fun trips and commuting

No, this not a tent it is little better than a bivvy bag. You cannot sit up, so cannot prepare food, or eat, so it is a heavy crash bag. So you out in the elements on you bike all the time, except for sleeping, that makes life so tough. There are plenty of lighter tents that are tents.

Great video. I enjoy seeing a different type of scenery than I see in the Southwest US. I have a question for James. You mentioned the TomTom you use. I have found that using Google Maps on my iPhone is not working out that well. The batteries are just about done at the end of 4 or 5 hours and also Google Maps routes that you create on a desktop do not transfer to a mobile device correctly if you have dragged the route when planning the trip to avoid a place. So.... How do you create your routes on the TomTom, or do you just set a destination and do what TomTom says? How long do the batteries last, or do you have a feed on your bike? P.S. -- You contributed to my decision to get a Speed Twin 1200 as my first bike this January. I have a bit more than 3,000 miles on it now and it is great. It needs a wind screen since we do so much high-speed driving out here, it also needs cruise control and some other features that I can't add to it. But overall a great bike. Mine is a 2023 - bright red like yours.
@NoPlaceToBe.
@NoPlaceToBe. Ай бұрын
If you use your phone I would suggest getting a wireless charging quad lock, that might fix all your issues. The tomtom is great as It has a wireless charging mount that keeps it plugged into the bone battery all the time, failing that it has about a 6 hour battery life. I tend to just punch in a destination, turn off motorways and toll roses and then select from 1 of 3 options it gives me. You can manually create routes on the app or download tomtom rider routes and yours from the app as well which is a great addition. I like having the dedicated tomtom as it doesn't require cellular data so always pulls a GPS signal and works a treat for finding unique roads unlike Google maps. Glad to hear I influenced your decision, very glad to hear you went for the speed twin in red, stay safe and enjoy riding! 😎🏍️

I’ve been to a number of the places you visited but still yet to do north of Ullapool and over the top. I’m from the northeast about 45 mins east of Inverness and same north of the Cairngorms, so no excuse really. 😂 I’d definitely recommend the northeast corner as well if you get back up here. Braemar, Ballater and the like - some lovely roads. See you on the road some day. Ride safe.

I rode a Bonny in the 1960s. Australia. Had a few bikes since. Nothing compares. Retired now and would like to return to riding. Seeing the new Bonneville T120 with the modern touches is just awesome and gladdens my heart. (But the price does other things to my nervous system.) I sat on one at a dealers recently and started it up. I felt absolutely at home. As if I'd never been off it. It fitted like a glove. Thanks for the video. These POV videos looking over the bars at the road, and picking a line with the clocks right there, is just magic. Add the sound of that wonderful motor and...well. You are right about seeing yourself in the shop windows. It's sort of funny, but being on a Bonneville is kind of who I am. Just the thought of it brings some inner peace. Even when I don't own one. Is that crackers? I used to take my then girlfriend out on it back then. We're still married.

I bought a new Thruxton R in 2016. I have other bikes but find the riding position of the Thruxton best for my aging 69 year old back. I fitted the Triumph quick release panniers and have done a lot of touring with the bike. Why not have a light sporty bike with great suspension when riding hard day in and day out? I also fitted the factory fairing which works very well, even in strong crosswinds. Longest tour so far 4500 kms. Longest single day 1100 kms from Twin Butte , Alberta to Vancouver BC in one long day. I was still able to walk afterward!

Thruxton was a close one for me too. But for sure touring and longer trips it would’ve been difficult hence the T120x Would love a lighter sportier bike to whip out for some days.

The Thruxton isn't at all difficult on longer trips. I have done some real long trips with it. I use the Triumph quick detachable panniers, they work great! The Thruxton would be too cramped for 2 up touring. It's only good for solo touring. With the comfort dual seat fitted it will haul 2, but I wouldn't want to try touring with it. The T120 would be much better for 2 up touring and 2 up riding in general.

The bench seat and vintage styling is drawing me to this bike. Your paying 10,000 but were being charged 13,000 here in the states.The Kawasaki 900 that people are comparing this to is available but just seems thrown together without alot of attention to detail. It's just fast. And in no way, shape, or form compares to the T120. It's just simply a gorgeous bike.
