This would have been nice to know when I installed my tail beacon several years ago into my 1948 Stinson taildragger! I did make sure there was a downward sag on the wires when installed to prevent water following the wires into the housing but did not consider a tube. Also, I don't think this would be possible to do inside my rudder since it is rivited closed and the little hole for the tail light mount barely accomodates the tail beacon assembly, let alone that big loop of tube. I cannot create the loop inside the rudder (no access) and there is no room to feed it in (small opening). Sigh.

Good idea. Perhaps they should come like this from the factory? Anyway, how much digging and disconnecting of wires will need to be done at the back of my Carbon Cub E-LSA to accomplish this task? In other words, everything is easy on the bench, but it turns into a nightmare, sometimes lying on the hangar floor.

This will be my first update since buying the AV-30 a couple years ago. I really hope if fixes the screwed up artificial horizon.

😳 could you perhaps make this process a bit more complex?? How about WiFi update? How do we update the AV-30 when it’s already installed in our panel?

Why push twice for heading and once for Transponder? You may change the Heading bug 20 times for a flight and the Transponder once. It would make more sense to just twist the dial for heading bug, or at worse case push once for heading and twice for transponder.

So easy, a caveman (me) can do it!

That caused some problems for me saying the ground goes to the 9 pin on the db9 connector. It will not identify the AV 30 if you do this. Thought the error was my USB-Serial cable compatibility but it was this. I switched the pin and it worked smoothly. It needs to go to the DB9- 5 pin. DB15-8 pin to DB9-3 pin DB15-15 pin to DB9-2 pin DB15-9 pin to DB9-5 pin and shared with -12v. DB15-1 pin to +12V

Wow, just installed 2.3.9 to resolve attitude lag on the unit. Now it’s another tear down and update to the next version. However, you claim the problems were due to: installation errors, movement during alignment, or initial calibration! None of those problems should require new firmware. Hmm, my original AI hasn’t needed an upgrade…..ever!

uAvionix, please consider the majority of your customers are decades beyond 17. Also that your intent should be to educate, NOT entertain. Slow this down by At Least 50%. Yes, we can pause or go back but this hyper speed is not even close to reasonable. Freeze the entire display so that ONLY the item being highlighted changes during the adjustment. It is often difficult to determine what part of the display is the subject when every element on the screen is constantly changing. You might even consider adding the highlight circles around the field or item being demonstrated, even if just for a moment, to focus the viewer’s attention. You have done this very effectively with regard to button-pushes and knob rotation. Thank you.

I’m casually considering adding an AV30-E as PFD backup to my full Dynon HDX avionics suite. When you demonstrated adjustment of the DG, I would like to have seen how we got to the DG screen from the PFD screen.

Heading bug that does nothing. It is nothing more than a visual indication of where you desire to go. there is no interface out to a navigator or to a CDI or autopilot . Nothing. It is simply a mark you can set on the DG. Its only useful if you may forget where you want to go. You can look and remember the heading you want. LOL. must be for Alzheimer pilots

So I do this on my AV20S and the AoA never does anything. None of the green, yellow or red bands light up in a stall. I’ve read through the manual, played with the settings and it seems like something is wrong.
