This man plays the tenor sax the way it should be played. Not like that ugly Coltrane/Brecker squawk. Beautiful tone!

RIP April your art made it to the younger generations, I'm 17 and I find this song so calm, amazing and emotional in an incredible way. Your work has meant a lot to me and many others in our generation. It's been a source of connection, and I'm truly grateful for the beauty you brought into the world.

I've loved their music since the 1960s. April, Nino's elder sister, was already an established singer when they teamed up. Nino was a session musician (piano, sax) on some of Bobby Darin's records on the Atlantic label and I'm pretty sure that the brilliant piano intro to N and A's 'I can't give you anything but love' was Nino's. Great songs and great musicians will never die.

April Stevens' career went back a long way, didn't it? I was surprised to learn that she was born in 1929, as opposed to 1936, and I guess that accounts for it. The above clip being from 1952 made her 23. A long and fruitful life, to be sure.
