This was triggering for me.The Latin culture in California is very rigid, and there's a lack of cultural confidence among some Mexican and Central Americans who ascribe to fake Liberalism or racial superiority. Yet when it comes to the workforce and social interactions, these inappropriate behaviors, cognitive dissonance, and racism come out in their own self-hatred and lack of understanding their identity and people. Latin isn't a race. Im Carribean descent and grew up in South Miami...now moving to the West coast Ive faced discrimination as a child being called mayate and the n-word by Mexican kids growing up and when I addressed my experience to other Hispanics in a diversity and inclusion talk at a UC Berkeley summer program there were crickets. Not to mention I worked along a white passing Puerto Rican colleague and not once did I want to mention my background out of fear because I was getting non-verbal negative feedback from her and a few of her Hispanic colleagues who worked in the lab. It's very sad, and I have to tread light around the Hispanics out here in California. Also I've seen there are Latinos who discrimante against other nationalities or people from their own country with regional differences..this is why the Latino identity needs to be dismantled because colorism, featurism and elistism is a real thing across different Latin countries because people have a lack of identity in themselves and their own history. I have a few Latin American friends who choose to assilimate to the bias or others who refuse to play into it and rather assimilate with other diverse people across the indigenous American and African Diaspora.

Because of USA history and culture, to become more "American" inherently means to become more racist. Unfortunately, too many Latinos particularly Chicanos, in their attempt to become more "American" have become the foot soldiers for white supremacy.

Whats the N-word in spanish? I've never heard of that. I know cause of people in my family that there is a lot of racism againy blacks. This comes from the Amrican propaganda. Mexico also has a big racism issue with brown and indigenous ppl. All the people on tv, whether shows, movies or novelas..99% white complexion.

Unfortunately we as Mexicans, have been discriminated against and racially harassed due to our skin and native appearance since colonial times! We were fed that being white (Güero) is a better race and push people to better the race by marrying white peoples (para mejorar la raza) therefore once we come to the USA,we bring our frustrations and hatred! I’m not generalizing but most people are like that!

Like was mentioned, alot of this, though not all, is due to hiring practicies by some of these companies. Many of them hire vastly more Latinos than any other group. That's how it is at my current job which is at least 98% Latino, including most of management. Funny thing about all this too is that I actually worked at Cardinal Health for a couple years, and I read about this discrimination case from a flyer they had posted on one of the boards at the job, but I never heard anything of it in the news. I got hired there a few months after the case got settled so luckily they were already suffering the penalty for it and changing things. But it's just wild all this going on in my own neighborhood and you never hear a thing about in the media.

That's interesting that you said that because I worked at Foster farms in Fresno California me and my cousin had work there in the past now my cousin is mixed with white and black even though we had different last names no one knew that we were related so they were treating him different because he looks like a white person and I also noticed that all the black people had to do all the hard work like heavy lifting and they were also treated poorly talk down upon by other workers of such I would look over every time and see that my cousin was getting all the easy work such as pushing stuff onto the conveyor belt while on the other hand I had to lift everything and stack it neatly which was very hard and tiring some of the boxes of frozen chicken weighed up to about 50 lb alone I work there for one day and I quit My cousin on the other hand worked there for about 4 days and then they fired him

Yep in California they do give black people the heavy work. That is why I do not want to work on these jobs out here at all. I REFUSE to work any labor jobs, retail, warehouse, etc. I consistently see black people doing the heavy work at many jobs when I am shopping as well. I REFUSE to work anywhere in these conditions. I found out I was paid $1 less and also they were using me as a cart attendant when that wasn't my job tittle and they hired me for customer service but had me in the parking lot collecting HEAVY carts in 100 degree weather. By the end of my shift everyone was fresh and clean but I was totally exhausted and I noticed they were doing this and quit. The Mexicans I worked with were not hard workers, I was the hardest worker on every job.

I'm a security guard and for some reason at my post I noticed that the janitors who are all Mexican for some reason I get this little attitude from them like they feel like they're better than other people that work here because they have to clean up and they have to work the hardest but in America working hard doesn't mean anything some people get paid less for working the hardest it's always been like that since the beginning of time that's why it's best to work smarter.... But anyway everywhere I go and every job that I've worked I noticed that the Mexican people like the band together is a group and team up against the black people and yes I am black and I noticed these things because I've noticed them since kindergarten because I was in a spanish-speaking class for a couple weeks and I noticed that all the kids in the class would not talk to me even though they did speak Spanish and English as the second language they would not talk to me or interact with me at all and any form and the reason why is because they were taught by the family did not associate with black kids because they're looked at as bad kids as I've been told..... Sorry if I'm all over the place but the racism against blacks and Mexicans is very prevalent and people could sleep in under the rug All they want but it's still going to show up in the light.....
