Ed, what a great film you put together about a truly remarkable journey. I am heading into he Madidi myself with a film crew next week. While I've explored part of the park on several expeditions, I have yet to cross over to the Alto Madidi. Where did you end up getting out--where did the journey end? I'm really intrigued by the 'sky fish' phenomenon. Did you ever find out anything about it? Did you ever end up going back?

Don’t be a revisionist historian. Their society was a train wreck with constant civil wars by the time the Spanish arrived. That’s why the Spanish vanquished them so easily with so few men.

Law abiding society? Hum, no. They had nobles, slavery, civil war, ritual blood sacrifice, no written language, no acceptable laws as we know them, land ownership was under a fiefdom with serfs, rampant inflation, and many other problems.

Ciekawe i zupełnie nieznane miejsca i budowle .

Been there done it. It's really is amazing. Great documentary but I'd suggest working on the correct pronunciation of many of the names: Choquequirao, Sacsayhuaman, Tawantinsuyu are all mispronounced.

The Spanish did not conquer the Inca all by themselves. They had help from other natives who were happy to overthrow their Inca overlords. Plus, we now know that the Amazon basin cultures, far from being savage, were quite advanced in their own right.

I had been there once during their annual hornbill festival. These people are today friendly, polite and respectful. Thanks to good Christian missionary who took the right message to these people. When asked about the dog meat, people choose so mostly because of it's medicinal value. People of these region choose these types of delicacy as an alternative to modern medicines, which they said is no less effective and with the advantage of less or no side effects. Also meeting their nutritional requirements needed for their laborious work. These animals also help to increase the shelf life of their food through its meat and thus meeting their demands when in need. Located at far away from the market and poor economic status depriving them of many basic needs. The ecosystem is not surprisingly healthy and respected by the people. Serving many good for the people. It is a part of India's Northeast Region and don't be surprised if one finds no or little popular Indian culture in this part of India.
