I need your view on this.... Can we make opscity alph map and use on simple plane instead of actually creating a text object? As u did for E n W?....using opacity map...It will surely reduce polycouunt but what cons can be there.... Need your experienced views on it....
@polyrendr10 сағат бұрын
oh absolutely! That's exactly what you should be doing for lower poly models. The only cons I can think of is if you view it up close you might be able to tell its not geo and just an image, or at certain angles. You can save tons on polys though and most in-game models do these kind of things to reduce poly counts.

hi bro why you don't make modular environment assets?
@AnarkypКүн бұрын
I feel like red building stand-up little bit more then white one. In this asset a house is a "main character" so it's important to concentrate view on it. White version looks nice as well but in that case I would reduce saturation of wood color on the ground. But still, final product looks awesome, good job 👍

Thanks for commenting! I agree, I kinda wish I went with red but the main reason I didnt was because my video before this was a red truck 😆appreciate the feedback 🙌

I want your help I have completed my diploma from respected institute about modelling but I am facing problems to do UVs mapping in Maya can you please help me out with this??

Thanks man, I appreciate the comment! Im actually working on a UV mapping mini course, about half done but things got busy. Im hoping to finish it up before the end of summer. In the mean time, check out some of my other videos like "old oil cans" or "CB Radio" - I walk through the uv process in those videos and a few others. I also have a few other narrated videos on my Patreon which might help. Also, every video I post on YT, I post a real-time version on my Patreon page which includes the full uv process so others can follow along :) Keep up the practice, consistency is key!

@@jeffyboi6969 I personally don't think it will, but either way its good to learn all 3D software as you won't always be able to use your preferred software of choice when working for other studios/companies.

@@barney2.1254 You can find the tool under Modify>Snap align Objects>Align Objects. Make sure to click the small box beside the tool to open up its options, and check on World X, Y, and Z and change "Align To" to "Last selected object" Once you change the settings they will stay like that. Another way to do it is "Match translation" which you can find under Modify>Match Transformations>Match Translation.

@polyrendrКүн бұрын
Thanks! Its most likely because there's not enough resolution in the UV's. Try making the UV shell of the poster larger so you have more resolution to work with. Could also try exporting larger texture sizes.

Hey I was wondering, why and how did u end up texturing the switch button separately even tho it had same material assigned in maya as the grip. How did it know what to apply only on switch and what on grip? Usually when I do this I try using vertex colors, are u not using them?
@polyrendrКүн бұрын
No I dont use color id's. I usually use the Polygon Fill tool and either fill in certain objects or specific UV shells.
@jeffyboi69698 күн бұрын
tip to make your models look a little cooler and nicer while modeling for these shorts/vids. Turn on your "screen space ambient occlusion" button and your "multisample anti-aliasing". It will give a smoother, and more defined look to your models in your workspace.
@polyrendr8 күн бұрын
Thanks, I'll try that out! I don't like working with ambient occlusion on, also I find without it its easier to spot artifacts in the geo. I'll try the multisampling anti aliasing tho. Thanks for the suggestion!

You can apply it to the whole mesh, certain faces, or to a specific UV shell (UV Chunk Fill). I then to use different layers to apply different materials. I hope this answers your question!
