People used to joke about movies having subway surfers gameplay in the background because of kid’s attention spans but I think that we are almost at the point

I think maybe some people have a slasher film type taste for horror and that’s why Longlegs is so polarizing. I prefer the slow burn, unsettling, psychological thriller type of horror movies so I think it’s just a matter of preference 🤷🏻‍♀️

Overhype is something I try not to get sucked into. Key word: Try. It’s hard; once a trailer has a quote like it’s the scariest film in years, it builds certain expectations that might not (or cannot) be met. I watched it today, really liked it, but not perfect. I know I’m basically saying what you’re saying but it’s something that’s happening more often now and I try to temper expectations the best I can. Was insanely unsettling.

I hated it. The general consensus is that the film itself is terrible, but it’s a good time and enjoyable. I never found it enjoyable. I found every minute after the 15 minute mark nauseating. Every joke got recycled at least 5 times and none of them were funny to begin with.

It was a five or four out of ten I didn’t really enjoy it but it brings me back to 2022 in November where floods were happening and new games were coming out

Nothing will get me interested in the MCU ever again. There's dozens of other cool films coming out all year in every genre that I don't care for half-baked superhero movies anymore.

The first two work as nice gag installments so as long as this one delivers the same funny haha’s it’ll be a big hit

One of the best movies of 2024. Scarlett Johansson looking great as usual but more than that, great story, funny/entertaining throughout, engaging. At the end of the year, I will probably like this more than some of the movies that get Oscars attention. Good job to everyone involved.

I don't consider this really scary but it is creepy. Scary is subjective, ask the person next to us in cinema literally crying the whole time because she was scared to death. I love this movie, could be better though

i walked out of the theater & instantly said it was a dud/it sucked the only entertaining parts were the little 5 second scenes of longlegs singing like he's in an 80's metal band lol

I was very dissapointed too, the furious 5 not being in the movie was one of the biggest mistakes for me as they're a huge part of the trilogy. Po's previous villains didn't even get a huge part I was so excited when the trailer came out but it wasn't the outcome I was expecting. Shen and Kai had no lines. I thought Shen was going to reveal what happened to Po's mum so then we actually found out what happened to her. Oogway missing from the movie another loss. The comelian wasn't the best villains either. They should have left it at 3 movies.

You can’t talk about animated films if you know nothing about animation, or you just dislike it in general. This film was brilliant. Yes, the story is a standard kids’ story, standard plot that every animated film has had in the past 20 years due to extreme censorship in the industry. If it’s going to be watched by kids, better make it 100% vanilla. But Illumination did it well, and certainly much better than Disney EVER did. The film is rich with amazing physical comedy, acting, extremely pushed situations, unusual characters, amazing acting choices, unique creative choices, etc. etc. The story is for kids, but the animation is what makes it for adults too and it does a VERY good job at that. People take it for granted how difficult that actually is. I get that you’re not a fan of animation in general, that’s understandable, but do note that your review is like watching a musical and then saying “I don’t like that they sing their feelings”. That’s the whole point of the genre. That’s literally what makes it a musical. If you’re gonna comment on a musical, do it from the perspective of a musical whether you like the singing or not. Same goes for animation. It’s so sad that animation never gets proper reviews. They’re always biased and ignorant to what animation is aiming to achieve.
