Trevor Durling and his team at BV are making excellent wines across all price points. I'm a wine club member for several wineries and this is the only 'Big' one within that group because they offer great value for money.

Wtf, the wine don't use cork cap???? Are we talk about wine or soda?
@TheExtract4 күн бұрын
Hey Jorge, where have you been for the last decade my friend? Screwcaps are perfectly acceptable in the wine world these days. What's the problem?
@jorgeclaudioneves4 күн бұрын
@@TheExtract yes acceptable for soda, not wine! Wine deserves Cork, first is natural fiber, second cork preserves the environment and biodiversity. One of these days we will use plastic bottles!!!!!

@@prccap but have you had it? Because it sounds like you haven’t. It isn’t tired at all. We import it direct from the chateau. It’s still youthful with all the aged characteristics that make older wine fun to drink. I swear, some wine people are so miserable. 🙄

@TheExtract20 күн бұрын
James Suckling of course! But before you besmirch his abilities as a critic by saying he scores too high or you're going to immediately drop the score 5 points or something, we actually fully agree with him here. This bottling is absolutely brilliant. We've been doing this for a VERY long time and are aware how Jim scores the wines. Some people actually align really well with his palate and love his recommendations. On this one he is correct.

Cool video. There’s actually a few secret Bordeaux weapons out there, Chateau Lilian Ladouys, St. Estephe and Chateau Dalem, Fronsac are a few that come to mind.

I really can't find a good one! Jane Anson has one that can be purchased I believe. I did find an article in Drinks Business about it and there's a Montrose map showing it's use here: www.thedrinksbusiness.com/2024/06/montrose-return-to-to-be-exclusively-sourced-from-terrace-4-from-the-2023-vintage/

Was able to get my hands on a 2017 of les Carmes Haut Brion for $129 here in Canada before the prices skyrocketed. Carmes and Pontet Canet are some of the best quality for the price on the left bank.

Ok, you got my attention….I’m not into Napa Wines for mainly 2 reasons: price & jammy-sweet-blended twizzlers fruit bomb styles. Some of those Napa Cabs you are basically done after maybe a glass! Will try it just for the fact that you mentioned Paulliac & Margaux while describing it 😂! Cheers 🍷

Great video Kyle, I loved the nerdy info 😊 I wasn’t familiar with clone 6 and it’s history especially as it relates to some of the finest Napa currently has to offer. Keep the “great stories” coming !! Cheers 🍷 (update: my local wine shop had 1 bottle I had them hold it for me and I picked it up today, I want to drink it but I also know it’ll only improve with a couple years on it )

Watching this video I had an ‘aha’ moment. I’ve always known Amarone wine to be very heavy and headed in the raisin-ey direction, but on a recent trip to Italy I experienced several lovely and comparatively light Amarone’s. I couldn’t figure out why this was, but your video provided the answer…. It’s the amount of dehydration that each winery decides on. Thanks for the info.
