I just received my AIO Wolf 750T in Amber Flame. I can't believe how amazing this guitar is!! No blemishes whatsoever! I got locking tuners on mine, so that's a bonus! I have different setup needs, due to shrapnel damage in my fretting hand from my military days. And the setup I got was top notch!! Perfectly low action with no buzzing. I changed out the pickups to Seymour Duncan Alnico 2's. I was surprised to find these guitars have nice long neck tenons!! I am beyond satisfied with AIO!! Going to get that AIO Tele next!

I play guitar. As a side hobby I buy and sell music stuff. I bought a short scale daisy rock bass to flip. But I kept it....... Then I saw your video on this model. Found one in LA for $100 in unplayed condition. Keeping it also...... The one item you left off your video, is the push/pull tone knob. Love the single/double coil switch. Just an all around super guitar......

I bought a Washburn HB30 back in 1994, and it really was an excellent guitar. I changed the pickups after about 2yrs, to give its sound more character for jazz/blues, but the entire thing was always such a pleasure to play at gigs, jams and in studio, regardless. I had sold it when I bought an actual ES335 in 2001. Though in my opinion there really is no better electric than a Gibson es335, i have occasionally regretted selling the Washburn. The Gibson replaced it, but wasn't necessarily always much better as far as comfort, playability or ever sound

I really enjoy Tom Woodford, and he's even collabed with Adam Savage from Mythbusters. On youtube there's just as many charlatans as real craftsman. There was one US "luthier" I have to stop watching because he seemed to be guessing at some of his repairs. Sometimes it was like the blind leading the blind.

I have an Eart 70. It has a little less bling. Replaced a wobbly plastic saddle with Graph Tech shaped to fit snug in the slot with 0.090" action. I hate the black rubbery sticky tuner knobs. Switched those out for hard plastic. Only $13 on Amazon. Very nice guitar for the money.

I would try to modify the bridge or find a lower one, before I did a neck reset. At least it would be fun to try!
@FlowforthInstruments
@FlowforthInstruments 7 күн бұрын
It was way too high for any bridge adjustment.
@Iazzaboyce
@Iazzaboyce 7 күн бұрын
@@FlowforthInstruments Its high because the nut is high and the bridge is high. The neck appears straight enough. The high bridge means there is scope (with a new nut and lower bridge)) to return it to R/H and bring the action down to a comfortable place.

it's some mid60's - early70's mass produced budget archtop. I love these things; have several of my own. I'd likely attempt a neck reset (probably with a completely other similar spare neck), & rethink the entire bridge just for the fun of trying to get it to fret comfortably

Looks like an old Oscar Schmidt guitar in some way. He was most famous for ukes and zithers but moved into guitars and was sort of the Fuller Brush door to door sales guitar or mail order guitar in the early part of the 20th century I believe...his son carried the tradition on after him. I believe they came out of Chicago back in the day but I may be mistaken.

Very interesting! It's hybrid is so many ways. I like the inlays. A parlour is an excellent noodling guitar... their timbre can cut through easily, making them a great soloing instrument for acoustic jams. I also like the classical neck width and string spacing. The single tuning machines rather than the typical 3-on-a-plate design was an excellent design choice. Are the tuning machines good?

Kent was a furniture maker, some of their models sound like it too. LOL I do have one nice Kent though, so they did make a few that weren't over-built. I own two 1970 Yairi classical models, I like the H Yairi more than I do the K Yairi but most prefer the K. The H has very light Japanese style bracing and sounds more traditional Japanese to my ear. Yamaki and Yazuma are both good makers, their higher end models are worth looking out for as are some of the older Takamine's, I own a Morris classical that's very nice looking but over-built. The Hohner G series from Japan is ok if you can find the higher end models, if you can find the ARBOR series they are VERY FINE guitars. Aria made several models from beginner to high end, most of them are fairly decent for each price range. My nicest Japanese classical is a 1985 Shiro made by Aria it has the modern parallel bracing system designed by Masaki Sakurai, that he won his gold cup with in 1988 and the headstock design he still uses today. It's very lightly braced on the bass side for a cello like bass sound, it's traditional Japanese in sound, which if very warm, mellow and yet Loud. Another thing to keep in mind is that most models in the 70's and earlier were priced in yen and the model number was the amount of yen they cost. Also most of the Japanese Acoustic guitars, even some of the highest end models have a "laminate" back that will appear to be solid due to how they are constructed. They would glue together two thin pieces cut from the same piece of wood, so that the inside and outside match, it's not what people think of today's as laminated although there are some high end Taylor guitars that use the same process.

@@FlowforthInstruments Thanks I'm a retired guitar shop owner and still buy and sell for fun, as well as collect. I also sold on-line, tons and tons of "used" and 2nds. If you remember a time when banner adds would clog the top of the buy it now section on E-bay, that was me. LOL Tip for you and your followers Sometimes you can get lucky and find the H or S Yairi models labeled as "Wilson" guitars. They will be signed usually, if not then it's probably not their work or even from their shop. The labels look almost identical to some of the Yairi labels. There are other Wilson guitars as well, most of them aren't worth messing. The H is for Hiroshi, he's a nephew. I would Imagine if you buy an early Sadao there is a chance either H or K could have worked on it. Good luck with your channel, thanks for sharing. I like seeing all kinds of guitars, especially the Japanese stuff or anything good that doesn't break the bank. I don't think anyone needs to spend a ton of money to have a few nice guitars that they enjoy or one good one to start out with either.

I have an fg800m and it is really nice. Mine has a matte finish, hense the M. To me it is not mind blowing like how some people claim, but really good! I still think there are guitars that feel more well made. Like in the sense with more attention to detail. But for the money you can't beat the yamahas! I believe the fg800 has a nato back and sides, fg820 has mahogony, fg830 is rosewood, fg840 is maple, fg850 is mahogony back and side and mahogony top. There is also an electric acoustic version and a 12 string version too. They have something for everybody, but the fg800m is the cheapest and so it is perhaps the best for those on a budget. Its just that the matte finish definatly may be more prone to getting noticable scratches, especially if you are a bit rough on your guitars, as it is a super thin finish on it.
