You probably stripped the "chrome" (actually vapor deposited aluminum) from the reflector as well. That's OK, though. It's far more important to look good than to be seen at a distance at night. For anyone contemplating this procedure, be aware that Zep Industrial Purple Degreaser is VERY aggressive and will burn your skin if it gets on you. It was used undiluted in this video. The recommended dilution is 1 part in 4-5 parts water and it will still burn skin at that dilution. I degreased an old metal lathe with it and learned how strong it is the hard way.

I would invest in timing components before your timing chain starts slapping the timing cover. Mine started a few weeks ago and I've kept it parked every since. I'm going with a lot of parts from MMR (modular motorsports racing) just because they should last longer. Also their tensioner inversion bracket seems like a must to correct fords lazy engineering. If I have to beat it to get to work on-time it should stop loosening the chains as fast. Plus I'll get a bit more power out of it.

Have a 07,, hearing more of a clicking noise, maybe it'll get worse and turn into knocking. Thought it was the fan blower motor so I went to the auto scrap yard and got a different one. Wasn't the fan blower motor for F sakes.

Auh come on I just done how the hell you got the back bolt out,that is too easy only one bolt removed 😅😅😅 I had to make a special socket with an wrench rachet to remove the back bolt this video doesn't show how you get the back bolt out,and it's not a slide out actuator, you got to joking on this video
@Sterlingforsyth5 ай бұрын
Yeah whoever owned it before me just said screw it on that back bolt... Sorry to hear that! That's no fun at all.

I have a Platinum with the dual climate. And the passenger side quit blowing hot air. And the defroster as well. I wonder if it’s the same issue. Mine never started making a sound though.
@fhuber75076 ай бұрын
There are 2 to 3 of those actuators depending on trim level and Air Conditioning options. The one kind of behind glove box. All have this one. Usually first to fail (7 to 10 years) The one above and right of gas pedal. Second to fail ( usually 8 to 11 years). The one centered just over the floor vent. Hardest to access. I have seen 3 ways to get at it. Full dash disassembly or cutting the plastic floor vent in half. One report of being able to pry the vent down enough.
@user-lr3vk1zj8c6 ай бұрын
Just changed the actuator and for some reason I only had just the 1 front screw left lmao. Maybe in the spring I'll locate them works great thanks!

Would that also work for the heater adjustment ? My heater works but the setting is on Low and won’t go any higher.

Maybe? It could be that, or the blend door itself could have broken

Haha I got it down now 😂 I can do the whole thing in like 20 mins
@jraymond32187 ай бұрын
From what I came to learn. Was that the actual cause of the problem is the blend door itself is sticking. This causes the gears in the actuater to break. You have to get at the blend door and lube or free it up. This is why you need to keep replacing it. Not because of defective actuators. Buy aftermarket or ford. Same thing both parts made in china. Thanks ford. Good luck.

I can stop the clicking by turning the temp knob, And mine makes the clicking when I turn the key. Like yours did do you think it's the same one ? Also it stopped clicking. And now it's just blowing cool air, no heat. Do you think it's the problem ?
