Why is Los Alamitos not hand timing their Tb races & posting a final time for 1000 yard races ? Their has been no final times at 1000 yards for weeks.

Apollitical Pence and Powerful Favorite were the last 2 year olds to qualify for and run in all 3 of Los Alamitos’ grade 1 futurities worth $1million(+), the Ed Burke Million, Golden State Million, and Los Al 2 Million Futurity. That was way back in 2018. Chizum, a few years ago, qualified for all 3 but was scratched from the 2 Million and was never the same when he returned. In contrast, Apollitical Pence and Powerful Favorite improved after.very productive 2 year old campaigns and would clash in Pence’s 3 year old debut when Powerful Favorite, who had won a big stakes at 2 in the Governors Cup Futurity and was coming off a dominant win in the Winter Derby, faced off yet.again running 1-2 in two photo finish duels in a trial and then the final of the El Primero del Ano Derby. Pence would head on to Remington where he captured the Heritage Place Derby for a much deserved big stakes win while Powerful Favorite added the Governors Cup Derby before a showdown in the Los Al Super Super Derby. In a brilliant 3 horse photo Powerful Favorite beat Pence, but for 2nd as the AQHA champion 2 and 3 year old filly, Flash and Roll, asserted herself for a 3rd million dollar gr1 victory. Pence finished his 3 year old season in the superfecta in an edition of the Championship at Sunland finishing within a half length of two of the Midwest’s best horses over the subsequent few years, Valiant Tiberias and the immortal Danjer. Pence’s career will be remembered by me as one facing the very best, going all over the US to do so, his versatility in distances.He not only won 2 Champion of Champions at 440, he also won the gr1 Boniface Los Al Invitational Championship in 2022 over Empressum in what I believe to be his finest performance at the classic distance. But he was also a 4 time stakes winner at 250 yards. And he ran at the highest level while travelling and facing the best at the biggest venues. He won multiple stakes at the sport’s most important venues like Remington Park and Ruidoso. And until his last 2 starts when something clearly was affecting him mentally, he had been getting better as he got older. From the end of his 5 year old season when he won a division of the Z Wayne Griffith Trials and then his 2nd Champion of Champions in 2021 through his win in the 2023 $75k Ruidoso Overnight Stakes at the age of 7, he won 10 of 11 starts before he would drop his final 3 races in his career. In winning the 2022 Winter Championship, Pence defeated Flash Bak by a half length. In last year’s Winter Championship final, Pence held off Empressum by a nose in one of the races of the year. Pence, Flash Bak and Empressum have combined to win the last 4 Champion of Champions, produced 3 other top 3 finishes in that race, and won 19 open grade 1s. This year’s Winter Championship has a lot to live up to.

I haven't been to any of the horse tracks since i was 7 years old.. My dad took me a lot to los Alamitos, santa anita and Hollywood park. I wonder if they are still packed at night? Used to havr cigarette butts everywhere lol.. I miss my childhood.. Thanks for sharing ❤
