Hey! I have a question, if I'd wanted to export a video with the effects that I added in touchdesigner but i wanted the effects at some specific point in the video not in the entire length of the video, how could I do it? Is it possible? or is it going to loop it the entire time? Thank you!!
@HardwareHaq4 күн бұрын
Been on a break so sorry for late response. You could use a switch or cross TOP and have one source be the original video and the second be the altered video. Then you could set up a trigger to occur when the timeline reaches a certain point or when the original video gets to a certain point (or have a button that you could manually press when you want the effect to turn on)

Hi there, I am wanting to add an LED strip lights to an interior scene. Would I use area light for this? When I try it, no light is showing.
@HardwareHaq4 күн бұрын
I have been on a break so sorry for delayed reply. If you haven't figured it out yet under the Object tab for the Area Light attributes there is a checkbox to make the light visible (3rd from the bottom).

Can you help? In my old Cinema 4D in "Select" there was "Set Selection" but in the 2024 its no longer there.

I have been taking a bit of a break this summer so sorry for late reply. In case you didn't figure it out they decided to change Set Selection to Store Selection it is the 3rd from bottom option in the Select Menu.

Nice, Thanks! I was able on the original mesh to do a loop selection / selection to splines / and use them to get a nice mesh flow for later UV unwrap.

Great video tutorial - I picked up a ton of the new UI (I'm a long-ago old UI user, very rusty, coming back to it with the new) while doing the subdivision tutorial. This was really helpful. I'm grateful for your patient and thorough coverage of all the steps, narrating through each of your actions at a fantastic followable pace!

If ever you can't find one of the tools if you hit shift+c on the keyboard you can search for any command. So hit shift+c and then enter cloner in the search field.

I'm going crazy.. used to release 20... where did the insert floor, background etc button go?
@HardwareHaq3 ай бұрын
Oh yeah...They changed everything. I believe to use floor and background (and have them render) you need to be using the Standard render engine or maybe the physical render engine. They have a lot of things that only show up based on what modeling mode and/or render engine you are using. If you switch from redshift to standard you will see that the lights, cameras, etc all change. You can also hit shift+C and then search for "floor" or "background" to find them. That said in Redshift you add a background through the camera. So add one to your scene and then you can find it in the attributes for the camera. I don't have C4D open and don't remember the exact tab name. I do go over it in a later tutorial in the playlist that specifically covers Redshift cameras/lights. Instead of a floor I typically just make a huge plane, or landscape. If you want haze/fog the RS Environment object is the starting point.

if you are patient and can handle waiting through a beginner c4D tutorial this is helpful. lol thanks
@HardwareHaq3 ай бұрын
Ha! Yeah I may make some shorter form "intermediate" tutorials at some point. When I was looking for existing content that explained the why along with the how to do things in C4D I couldn't find anything that really fit the needs of the course I teach so I decided to fill that void with these long form tutorials.

Issues with installation, updating, not showing up after "installed"
@HardwareHaq5 ай бұрын
Do you mean all the software isn't showing up? Or just Redshift? Redshift is now integrated into Cinema but you still "install" it separately. It doesn't generate an app after install but should be available in Cinema assuming you can see C4D in your applications folder. It is housed in a Maxon folder FYI. I am still using Monterrey on an M1 because I am mid-project and don't want to risk breaking something right now. lol. I also usually wait for 6 months at least before I install the newest OS .
@Grey_mind5 ай бұрын
@@HardwareHaq Yeah im just not seeing redshift within my c4d program when downloading separately. Other wise redshift is not installing at all from the maxon app. Maxon support said there should be no issues with installation on Sonoma and will try a few things later, but definitely dont recommend upgrading haha. Although ive heard Ventura doesn't seem to have the same problems. Thanks for the reply.

Thank you for the great tutorials, if you use the "middle mouse" to switch between the perspective and orthographic views, it is much faster. Thanks again 🙏
@HardwareHaq4 ай бұрын
Thanks for the tip! I am usually using a trackpad for all of this so not having a middle mouse button I forget about it. Also I believe the function keys will also switch but on my mac having to hold the Fn key and F1-F4 is obnoxious and I don't want students to have to change settings in their System Preferences to follow the tutorials.
