That was pretty much me when I found out for the first time. I watched this trilogy first before the prequels. But, me not knowing that the movies started out with 4, 5, and 6, I started the prequels after I watched six.

This is the first time I see this scene.

I am a lucky GENXer who there with my mom and best friend Peter, opening weekend, May 1980. When this scene hit everyone in audience gasped with one lady screaming at the top of lungs. The hairs on my neck stand up on end when I think of this. I was 12 and bf this Darth Vader was the most evil thing in the world and to find out he is Luke’s father was horrifying and also made sense. A stellar memory from my life.
