All i kmow is its cheaper to buy duplicolour trim coat paint and get your real black trim back and add these solutions for extra peotection for longevity. Just my 2cent. 😊

So bad how cars are treated by dealers using terrible washing practices, you'd think they'd be more aware these days 😊. Platinum looks fab, what a shame about Meguiars, very poor 👎

Nice been waiting for this haha, happy the PP performs good. Been using their products for a bit now since started detailing and have been super impressed, their ceramic detailer, foam, soap and deodorising air fresheners really super quality 👌

Not the only one that’s been disappointed with Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Trim Restorer. I used this on our brand new Subaru XV which has mountains of plastic trim. Even if prepped properly, I could barely see any difference. What is the longevity like on the Platinum Potions ? Does it get ugly steaks in the rains once it starts to wear off ?
@EvolvedDetails
@EvolvedDetails 2 күн бұрын
Glad it wasn't just me then. The platinum potions didn't really see any rain for the month or so it was noticeable on the car. I can't remember if it got streaks last time i used it though sorry

Keep in mind these are just simple silicone dressings that will wear off after a few washes.
@EvolvedDetails
@EvolvedDetails 2 күн бұрын
Yeah exactly, but they should last those few washes and actually darken the plastics in that time. I will be coating all the plastics on the van soon but before doing so I thought I'd test out these two. Kind of like a tyre dressing or quick detailer

@@EvolvedDetails craziest thing i had so far as a combo. Tried alot so far but that combo, wow. Now im testing Stjarnagloss Parla versus sonax BSD. Several tests showed already that Parla beats BSD in durability. Super interesting… The beading is way harder on BSD BUT, Parla is more of a sheeter i find. Im testing it as we speak on top of fusso coat. We will see what the outcome is. 😁

What needs a test is tyre applicators. NV's Tyre Applicator sucks. Failed adhesive after a few uses. Will never buy that again; the cover / handle is a great idea. Let down by crappy adhesive. Bowden's Own Tyre Applicator is pretty robust and has lasted awhile. Mirch's applicator has good shape and is holding up well also. Keen to try the handled CarPro one soon.

Gyeon Q2 tire on sale at Repco for 20$ was a steal. Bought a few of those and the gloss and longevity is better than many I've used. ( One can reduce the gloss by leveling down after 10 or 15 minutes). Bowden's Own Sweet Rubber is 2nd with Bowdens Own Tyre Sheen and NV Onyx very far behind. (I like these products aforementioned for maintenance wash usage) Happy to exhaust the Gyeon Q2 Tire then maybe move to CarPro Darkside or give the Black Mirch a go. Thanks again for the efforts in these tests. good stuff. 👍😁

how does nv snow compare to nv snow plus and bowens mega snow job as well as carpro reset?
@EvolvedDetails
@EvolvedDetails 8 күн бұрын
Snow plus and mega snow job will be similar as both are meant to be stronger for using when cars and dirtier or before stripping a wax ect. Carpro reset is likely my favourite contact wash for maintenance washes as it rinses away clean and leaves nothing behind behind Nv snow and snow plus are for both foaming and contact wash Bowdens mega snow Job is for foaming only Carpro reset is meant to be for contact wash only but can be used in a foam canon also just won't foam as well

Why not skip the strip and just coat the areas where theres a reduced effect like the bottom of the doors and the back end, saves doing all the chemical strip and mechanical polishing of the whole car just for a few areas?
@EvolvedDetails
@EvolvedDetails 8 күн бұрын
It's definitely something you could do but to buy a new bottle of coating you might aswell do the entire car again. If I had 20mls leftover after another car it's probably a very smart option to use it up though. We have since sold the car so it will be for the new owner to work out how he wants to proceed
