I had to stop this episode a third of the way in on my podcast app because it was driving me so insane how much Adam was talking over Meghna and explaining concepts to her as if she didn't already have a deep understanding of them based on her extensive and lauded experience in the industry. Why was I hearing more about Adam's opinions than Meghna's??

this game expected way too much from spider man fans by thinking they could read in between the lines instead of taking things at face value (the black cat mission's preceding dialogue from peter)... like another comment on this video..

“Discovering a room in your house” is how I felt when I opened the art house. Recently in my brain the art house has been getting bigger, and I’ve been finding more rooms. Like this one room I recently got to unlock, I’m probably a better game character designer than a comic book character designer. I never realized there could be a difference. Any ways it will be fun exploring that room! So maybe when you wrote that title and play it could be seen now as a little metaphorical in a sense.

I'm sorry, is this supposed to be an interview about the CRAFT of game making? "How do you feel about Tom Hardy, how do you feel about Nadji winning awards, how much of you is in Spider-Man"… these questions are largely irrelevant! How about asking for a post-mortem about how Spider-Man 2 attempted, and didn’t exactly spectacularly succeed, at crafting a cohesive narrative with two characters? Or about how absurd lines like "[Felicia] won’t believe that's she's in danger coming from someone she knows, but maybe she will believe it coming from someone she doesn’t know" which is nearly verbatim a line from the script, made it into the game? This interview feels as insipid, superficial and low-stakes as the game itself. A pity from a company which is evidently capable of greatness, as shown in Spider-Man PS4. It's pretty characteristic how often he talks about the hard work they put into tightening the narrative SM1 and how this all seems "evident" in SM2. Perhaps they should have kept Christos Gage on the writing team. The script of SM2 is frustratingly inconsistent and, in a medium where questions are supposed to be asked about how to IMPROVE such things, they seem too self-enamoured and complacent with their jobs to even consider what they may have not been so great at. These are hundreds of millions of dollars properties, is a truly critical discussion too much to ask for?

Can anyone help me understand what Neil means around time stamp: 1:25:47 and the whole “think about the character first” I really enjoy his work and I really enjoy seeing his streams/hearing his stories. When he speaks about things I sometimes start viewing things from another perspective and his streams cheer me up when I’m down because they are entertaining and fun “a comedy show” as he likes to say. But I don’t know if by what he meant is that he doesn’t want people thinking of him as a Neil but rather the work that he’s done???

His work, the community he's built, and he himself have made the world a better place for so many. Thank you, Neil, and thank you, GMN for interviewing him!

I can't even express how much I deeply respect and appreciate this lovely, genuine, talented, intelligent, warm-hearted and humble man. This interview honestly made me so emotional when Neil was getting choked up about how people approach him and tell him that Astarion and BG3 as a whole helped them to feel known and accepted. Neil, you're a wonderful human being and I wish you every success in life, you've worked so hard and you thoroughly deserve the attention and accolades you're getting now.
