I think black women take a lot heat no matter what they do. They don't called Belly Dancing overly sexualized because it's not from black women.

Like I said in other videos on this topic, there's room for various genres. I'm GenX and I don't like these older artists coming at younger artists with self righteousness. Let these artists perform the way they see fit. In his comedy special, Eddie Murphy said that Bill Cosby tried to check him on his comedy material all while doing what he was doing. There has always been explicit music. Let's not act brand new. Have you ever been to Prince concert or heard his music in the 80s?

Are you responsible for unintentionally traumatizing a person? No. You are not responsible if you did not know or had no intent to traumatize or cause harm. We are never responsible for the other person's interpretation of our communication or behavior. That's an unnecessary added weight that is not our burden to carry. What are your triggers and traumas that come out in relationships? We all have triggers, and trauma's true. In my younger years, rejection and abandonment were major triggers for me. Exhibited perhaps in what people would call clinginess or the need to have my man's attention. Also, not being heard would increase that trigger. Today, knowing myself better, I know that communication is pivotal, and I would rather be single than be in a relationship where communication and connection are not solid. I would be interpreting the actions and behaviors of the other person to make the decision to feel the way I feel, albeit belittled, unloved, or whatever. I take full responsibility for how I feel. What it would trigger for me would be to first attempt to gain understanding, resolve and compromise, but if I felt that it was leading to nothing, then the outcome would be a relationship that ends with no chance for reconnection. How do you prepare someone to love you thru or in spite or your trauma? I don't go into a relationship with the thought of trauma on my mind. I believe that relationships should be full of communication and connection. If it doesn't exist or does not develop, then they or I must go. How I prepare them to love me, is to let them know what things are important to me, which again, are communication, connection and so on. Also, it's my opinion that everyone's perspective or what they feel is valid. Trauma is sometimes a difficult thing for people to process and understand, and a lot of negative behaviors like pettiness can be a result of that. It's that person's way of coping with the trauma. It takes time and a willingness to acknowledge their own feelings, and as they can recover from their trauma, it's important for them to be patient with themselves. Thanks for letting me share, and thank you for sharing this video. Celinda

All if these folks act like they are afraid to admit the bm are the demise in the community. Data categorically supports it. It can't be denied. That's why Cyn G's message is eye-opening globally - she is not AFRAID to speak the truth a d, she is very articulate while doing it.

I appreciate the two ladies points view, but I did notice both men agree with the fact that blk women by and large are the leaders of the community, but they just couldn't be honest entirely & acknowledge that blk males by and large aren't leading & are absent, or the examples of leadership the guy gave for blk men in the community was just sad & below the bar to say the least, I was only a few minutes in & I just couldn't

By non whites talking about cultural appropriation on KZfaq, designed by a white man, using either white or asianmade cameras, using the white invented internet, and wearing western clothes from a European tradition? Or can’t we just agree cultural appropriation is regressive and you can shade anyone based on your own idea of what a culture is?
