I have a 2001 F6C. I have a 2003 FLTCHUI Ultra Classic Electra Glide. When the Harley is in the shop, the Honda is backup. Now that Harley went Woke, the Honda is my main stay. It's a fast bike, easy to work on (yes 6 carbs are not bad) and it gets a tone of respect. Especially now that Harley went Woke. Did I mention that Harley went Woke? You meet the nicest people on a Honda, never forget. Next bike? Boss Hoss. Ef you HD.

I’m really glad I never owned a HD this wokeness is insane! I rode this bike about 1000 miles, fell in love with Valkyries, I had to give it back and back in December I bought a 99 Valkyrie interstate.

@@Paint_Can It’s fun to ride. The original owner put truck stacks on it with a viking seat. I bored out 2 of three holes for sound on each side. Baffles don’t come out of mine. Very comfortable. Avon’s are new and I put a lithium battery in it. I put the right Kiryaken pegs on it to. Just need the cobra pipes and cobra passenger footboards to be complete.

@aristarchuscom mine was mostly stock except the cobra floorboards and a few chrome pieces. I put the cobra 6 into 6 on and left the tiny baffles in. what a difference in sound. I think it sounds better with the cobra baffles in.

This is a great trip through NY and other states. I am planning to go to lake Placid sometimes after I retire at the end of this year. It is not easy to do even in a car. There is no way I can do it today on a bike, considering my age. Great job. Hopefully we can meet one day. I am also riding 2014 Valkyrie, but 1800 cc. Great bike, lots of fun.

Never wanted to do an IBA ride....then they started one near me and a charity would benefit. I decided there was nothing to lose because the charity would win. The group had a hundered Bikes and about 120 riders. I didn't know what to expect when we went out at 0500. Some unsupervised humans made a race out of it, but that thinned the group, ha. Then folks did their own rest/fuel stops and quickly I was my own group. Our halfway point was a store where you bought anything, to bring back proff of being there. I returned with three hours to spare, and there were still riders out there someplace. Maybe they just went home.

@Paint_Can

Definitely not as fast as a sport bike but the speed limit is still 30 and a touring bike is easily capable of that. I could have gone way faster than I did on most of it but I’m not that guy.

@@Paint_Can it’s funny that the speed limit there used to be 55 before it got so much attention. 30 is about the slowest I go there. It’s also hilarious that a speeding ticket there is like $30 for 30 over and doesn’t go on you driving record if you pay it within 2 weeks

You should have ridden through Eastern OH, WV, KY and TN like you said the Appalachians are nice and scenic, coming down I-75 is just terrible for riding. I ride to Prestonsburg, KY from time to time and the back roads are the best way to go.
@Paint_Can
@Paint_Can 2 ай бұрын
Thats part of next year’s plan. Theres not much time to hit the back roads when doing an iron butt ride. Primary crush the interstate miles. Check out the videos that drop the next 2 Wednesdays to see some other sights on the way back north.

How the hell do you not avoid suspicion of a shorter ride between gas stations? Stop every 50 miles? Actual GPS records?

GPS helps but basically go in a straight line where there’s no possible shortcuts and over run your miles by 5% or more. I’d hate to go 1000 miles and not get certified. I just did another iron butt 2 days ago. lol
