The stream pointe looks like a Russian pointe. Do you know what other grishkos are on the 2007 last ?

Watching this because I just got my first pair of Nikolays! They’re the 2023 shoe NeoPointe Smart which are great for me because of the shortened box for roll through/getting on my box. Not many reviews of that model yet though!

Starpointe was even better than the Stream Pointe for my daughter. They are both really SO similar but the StarPointe held up twice as long. They are great in narrow widths for those dancers who have long toes and who usually sink in other styles. Too bad no one is carrying Star pointe in CA area right now...we were lucky to get one pair from a fitting in Mountain View.

I actually wore the Victory with the Flex shank, and it was much better than the normal shank in terms of flexibility! The Victory box broke in an extremely odd place for me (the wings, which I have never broken in a shoe before??), though. I do agree that it's a bit chunkier; the box felt so blocky and a bit like a clown shoe on my foot. I preferred something much more streamlined and tapered :(

These new ones from Europe are TERRIBLE!! Nothing like the ones made in the US. They are super hard, push you behind, hurts the big toe, are smaller, OMG! A waste of money now!

I feel you!! I love my USA made Gaynors. When I got the new ones, they were custom and the softest shank and I still couldn’t even stand in them. They’re too stiff and they break in the wrong spot for me. I did learn from another dancer to get them wet and then use a blow dryer while they’re on your feet to help bend and mold them to your feet and that seemed to help a lot for me. But I wont be ordering any more of these now :(

Pretty much everyone wears the Victory in the S or SS. The Elite was notoriously hard the Victory is the same. The Victory wasn’t for me, largely due to the weight, the padding, and the low crown, but I don’t think it’s a bad shoe. You might want to try it again in a different shank if you like the box shape. The RP shanks are kind of soft to me, compared to Nikolay, so even that isn’t a great comparison.

Dreampointe made my feet stronger. The last couple of pairs I bought were great at first but then they got as hard as rocks as I used them. May be the humidity in my house... who knows!

I tried Gaynors as one of my first shoes after being allowed on pointe. I got fitted for old Gaynors in a store, took them home and they just did not fit me anymore. I was really disappointed, so we went for a bigger size that was EU made. The shoes are uncomfortable, baggy and I cannot get over the box at all. I've tried the supple and the soft shank as well as the 3 and 3+ box but they just don't work for me. Kinda glad because they really are expensive, but the US ones really are gorgeous:(

I love the StreamPointe, but I actually think the DreamPointe looks better on you. You get over the box better, and I feel like the 2007 last might suit you better (at least visually). It’s hard to compare one foot to another though.

Three models made by the company called R-class that also makes RussianPointe and now Suffolk and Energetiks for Australian market. And the rest of their stuff is made by Sansha in China… the woman you are referring to didn’t design pointe shoes for Nikolay ever, she worked as an admin manager at the factory and for the last few years part time as she was starting to work for Grishko USA owners. It’s actually pretty sad.

Hi! I actually found this company to be very dishonest after dealing with them a bit. Also the pointe shoes were causing major bruising on my metatarsals!! I now only wear Nikolay shoes!! They are amazing quality and the Nikolay staff is amazing!! I currently wear and love streampointe but I am going to try dreampointe to see if I can get more hours out of them.

I got fitted in these about a month ago, and they’re my first pointe shoes. I love them! Even though I don’t technically have anything to compare them to, besides the others I tried in store, I feel grateful these were my first rodeo. The box is awesome for balance and stability, they feel great, and I love that the shoe gently hugs your foot and arch so you can really feel the articulation of your entire foot as you’re first learning how to do pointe work safely. This was what I imagined a perfect shoe would be like: protection in the box where you need it, a super stable slightly wider flat box for balance, and the rest of the shoe like a a light snug slipper, it’s shank dancing along with you giving soft, humble, consistent feedback, yet really inviting you to take the lead - it’s just there for support and encouragement. 💕

I finally got my euro version in and I felt similar. Now I can’t seem to get over in this new version. My current US version is 7.5 N4 high vamp, high heel and lilac shank (truly super soft) but I ordered euro 8N4 low vamp, sculpted fit and it feels wrong after all the fitting advice. Just disappointing. Update: I had a follow up virtual fitting and they are sending out an exchange. I was told the new satin is stiffer but does break in over time. Can’t wait to get the new pair again.

yay first comment >^o^< but seriously I think its the first review I have seen on video, its a new company less then a year old I belive, american designed but made in russia as good as they are at making these types of shoes :{ its like cant anyone make our stuff here anymore, the more you outsource of the rare skill the rarer it becomes seem like they are constructed kind of like gaynors which acutally used to be made here till the pandemic hit, then outsourced exclusivly to their plant in the chech republic or slovokia I forget where it is exactly, if you cant tell though I like reading about new american brands and usa made stuff, found this brand on instegram though. thanks for your honest efforts and time dear.

Try the F (Flexible) Shank. M Shank in Victory is not hard at all, it just has extra glue in the shank area, but the glue will break down in the first class or two and the shoe will be nice and flexible, yet supportive. The F shank however, is the NovaFlex shank in the Victory.

I am so intrigued by these, just ordered a pair from St. Louis Dancewear (I think I got the last pair in my size). I actually look forward to the vamp 1, because my previous pair of Russians had a two and it felt a little high for my super short toes. It's fun to see another grownup ballet student who is into her pointe shoes!

We just got these for my daughter today. The exact same size as you! We tried several different shoes because she outgrew her Nikolay 3007s, and they didn’t have her new size. We were just about to go with a pair of Merlet Divas when she remembered she had gotten these in! We all gasped when my daughter put them on. An absolutely beautiful shoe for a diamond shaped foot. I was told it’s a 3/4 shank so it’s shaped like a feather or “ plume” …light and soft, which is great for a beginner or low-arched dancer. I can’t imagine a 1 vamp. I’d snatch a bunch up but my daughter is only 11. She’ll grow and her width might change. Eep! I hope they keep the V2. It’s perfect and she is as happy as you are about them! Happy dancing!
