Please excuse my ignorance, I'm not a psychologist. Just trying to understand. Why is it that people who hear voices never hear nice things being said? The voices are always critical or threatening. Why don't they believe people are out there to help them or admire them or anything positive?

The one lady that said it won’t get worse is clearly misinformed. Cirrhosis does get worse over time even if you have stopped drinking.

The reason Apocalypse/Revelation is not read in the Byzantine liturgy is because the lectionary was formulated before the book was confirmed as canonical.

Has nothing to do with deduction. A party trick. Derren Brown used the same trick against 9 chess players. Look it up. The clue here is looking at one, or knowing at least one of the clues (someone working with him in audience). So when he says it is the hall and opens up the card he is then looking at the card which has the perpetrator written on it. He then goes on pretending to think about who the perpetrator is and then picks up the card which has the weapon written on it.

It's exciting stuff...I've been thinking along these sort of lines myself (honest!). But why are they keeping it so quiet? I'm middle aged, a Christian and philosophy graduate, and yet even I am only just finding out about this, and only by accident because Catherine Pickstock wrote a foreword to a book about Eric Gill. They need to do more to get it out there.

1:20 Apostolic Origins? If this is the Antioch Church mentioned in Acts 11 (First place the term Christian was used), then it was set up by Paul, not one of the Apostles.

All I've got to say is that the Penal Substitution Theory of Atonement was for many years a poison in my life. I didn't even know what this was a heresy, and it sounded so plausible I didn't suspect that it might be. It's not the kind of subject that is discussed very often, and I assumed it was generally in line with the official teaching of the Church. At the same time I'm very glad that recent Popes have appologised a number of times for the errors of the inquisitions. For they were terribly erroneous.

Another fascinating element of the interview is there is no mention of Eastern Orthodox writings...perhaps in another video...but I think that this presentation is insular to a Western scope.

A very thought-provoking discussion on Augustin! At first, I thought it was a terribly interesting concept, that the human tendency for evil stems from the fact that we were created out of nothing. But if you look at the worst tyrants in history (not least in the 20th century), the last thing that comes to mind is that they "slid back into nothingness" - at least in earthly terms, for they amassed immense power. On the surface of it, a medieval recluse and a saint would fit that description much more closely (again, in purely earthly terms). I suppose Augustin's idea comes from the fact that he understood evil as absence of good. But the 20th century tragedies clearly show that evil is far worse than that... A very thought-provoking commentary nonetheless.

St Paul does not change his mind between 1 Thessalonians and Romans 11. That the Lord is not pleased with the fact that his Chosen People have rejected the Messiah (Thessalonians) rests precisely on the fact that the call of God is irrevocable (Romans).

I would add that if Jesus is not God, he cannot change the law of the Father by his sacrifice, in a philosophical view point we can understand why Marcion became dualist from unitarian Jew that was the first Christian... Arius 200 years later was the ambassador of the divised unitarian about the question of "Who is Jesus?"(Mickael-Super Prophet-Super Angel-little God Etc), Binitarism and Trinitarism cannot have existed in the time of Marcion and Arius must have been influenced by the Jew with "creatio secunda" who make a new christology.

Apart from the obvious alcohol, NAFLD (non alcoholic fatty liver disease) can progress to fibrosis and cirrhosis. When are companies like McDonalds, Burger King going to be held accountable for selling foods or drink (non alcohol) that are loaded with chemicals. Not to mention Monsanto Round Up a weekkiller which is a known carcinogenic. Environmental factors, in my opinion, are to blame for the rise of toxic livers. To stay safe eat organic (if you can) and eat natural foods, NOT ready meals or fast food.
