Personally, I think that the trash bins should have small holes on the side in order to make it easier to remove the bags from the accumulated suction created as it's filled with garbage. I see more value in that.

Have you tried a plastic clothes hamper? Similar to a trash can (size and shape) and already has holes (some of them, anyway).
