Here we are, 100 years later, that I wondered how Tenor (Cantor) Aleksandrovich would take to the global social comments, as well as the global chaos? Would have been fun to hear him sing as the 4th tenor, with Domingo, Carreras, Pavarotti. Or even with fellow Tenor (Cantor) Tucker. How the opera years have been richer then all the greed for gold, oil, occupation, power...Thank you fellow opera lovers for your shares. Best to all and 🕊

How many times did he do that in an actual opera performance? Martini sold out his talent to the movies rather than building a consistent and productive opera career.

To my opinion a great artist with great voice and very elegant vocal line, and sensibility. Pity he was hard hit by life while making the great career at Met and elsewhere. I think it should be mandatory to always remind him in Verdi, Puccini and verismo repertoire, as long as he was also admired by Del Monaco. His Calaf was admirable and with great passion (and voice), and he sang it in great theatres including Rio and La Fenice. Please, let me know your opinions about this artist! Many thanks also to his teacher, Mr Attilio Bordonali.

Sorry, but I detect constant blips in the voice which signifies vocal straining and which were not evident in other arias that I have praised which he has sung so masterfully and beautifully.
