How do you like the info system (aftermarket screen)? Would you recommend.

Many thanks for that helpful video. The cable end by the latch jumped out of its holder and your video helped me figure out how to fix it myself. It took a couple hours but better than a trip to the dealer!

How do you stuff the 35’s and not hit the fenders. I’m running the same size tire on stock 200 arms with +35mm offset and I can stuff the tires when they are straight but they rub pretty hard on the top of the fender lip when turned
@Jay-me7gw28 күн бұрын
Do you actually get more travel from a Tundra swap if you keep the AHC shocks? My understanding was that the motion ratio of the LC arms and the Tundra arms were the same, and that to get more travel you needed to run extended travel Tundra shocks.

What kind of wheels do you have on there I hate my 20-in wheels I just don't know what would fit well and I don't want blingy I want something that looks good. Also what did you do to fix the plastic so that air doesn't leak inside I think that's a really important part of the job. The handles look nice however I can't stand noisy air coming from the outside

Top notch informative video. I have recently installed coil spring buffer in 2018 lc200 with ahc, and I must say I am happy with the result as it improved ride quality, firm, on both dirt road and asphald road. Currently, I am looking to lift my car by 1 inch with spacer and ahc sensor. Was there a difference in ride quality with spacer lift?

I attempted this way, but quickly gave up and just took the front off. It’s a few extra screws to take off but MUCH easier in the long run.

Thanks for the video. Would you recommend a strut spacer for those who have adjusted their front AHC sensors to the max height position to eliminate the factory rake of the LX570? Would it benefit ride quality to return the front struts and springs back to the neutral compression vs preloading the struts from the sensor lift?

I am binge watching all your videos! I am very intrigued by AHC now that I read more into it. The AHC in theory should compensate for removing the sway bar right? Do you have a sense how much it can compensate? 20%?
@DaveyJordan2 ай бұрын
Great question. The AHC definitely helps compared to a conventional setup. I will say I drove about 200 miles home from a trip on the interstate and did not realize that I had broken the front sway bar linkage. There was no discernible difference in the road manners. (That was the point I decided to go ahead and remove the front sway bar altogether). Of course in the event of having to make an evasive maneuver, the swaybar would still be optimal.

Hey hey hey! You know what, I'm actually considering getting an LX570. I kind of like it more than the new GX550. Great information Davey!

Love that my friend! The AHC system is often underestimated in my opinion and with a little ingenuity, there is some serious modification potential 😀. If you want to make an AHC video one day, you know I’m game!

I would love to see some @tinkerersadventure videos on the LX. I think like the GX had the blow up off off road enthusiasm, the LX is at a good price point and age for that now. Plus theyll AHC is really great

Have you looked at putting the victory skids on yet? If so I’m wondering how the dissent bumper ties in if the “tie in plate” from dissent works with them… any you may not recall but does the dissent bumper with stock skids need the tie in plate? I’m wondering if there would be a gap… thanks and sweet rig, you have set the bar for what I hope to achieve
@DaveyJordan5 ай бұрын
Hi Pat. The Victory lower control arm skids were a flop. Terrible fitment, bad design in my opinion. I sent them back. Currently not running any lower control arms skids, which 99.9% chance is fine as beefy as those lowers are. If Ragu fab made another batch, I'd reorder from them.

Very nice built. Is that telsa style screen from Belsee? any issues with it?
@DaveyJordan5 ай бұрын
The screen is from Alibaba, AliExpress. All of those units are coming out of the same factory and getting rebranded and the price marked up. As far as my thoughts on the unit, the only things I use it for are the cameras and CarPlay. It does fine for that, while needing the occasional reboot. I can’t speak to the other features.

How much did adding front and rear lockers cost, parts and labor? I’m considering adding an Eaton rear locker on a LX470 so I can use the factory knob from the 98/99. I agree AHC is robust if maintained correctly.

We did the install ourselves when we put the gears in. So I’m not sure what to tell you on labor rates, seems like they can really vary across the country.

What was the problem with the calcium? How did they treat you? My body absorbs way more calcium than it needs. Unless I take allopurinal religiously and avoid high calcium foods, I become a”kidney stone factory”. Getting them out is so painful it hurts just to read about. I hope the calcium is not interfering with my heart. Time to see a cardiologist. Davey, stay healthy!
