Thank you very much for the great video :) I have some thoughts on your video schedule: Five videos in one day seems like a lot. Wouldn't it be better to release one video per day? In the past, there have been days without any videos. I would prefer a more consistent schedule, with at least one video every day. Maybe two if necessary. I believe this might also improve the number of views. Kind regards from Germany^^

Someone's really gotta figure out this Photoshop alternative on Linux thing. I've swore off Photoshop more then a decade ago and decided to just use Gimp, instead. That hasn't worked out so well for me and lately I'm kinda getting tired of it. Gimp's just not getting much better even after all this time. Which is strange considering I also swore off 3d Max at the same time and decided to use only Blender, which was a wonderful decision in comparison as Blender in now industry leading software, while Gimp still rides the short bus. Disagree with your take on AMD GPUs being useless. I use one. Everything important eventually gets ported to ROCM. Stable Diffusion, Chat GPT, Cycles all work on ROCM. I only lose out on weird experimental software and even that will probably change soon with CUDA to ROCM translation layers that are now open source.

You said your Heroic Games Launcher couldn't find your drive, did you correct mount your drive to a correct directory? If you had, you have to install a flatpak program called Flatseal which manages lots of permissions to flatpaks which are sandboxed by default, on the "Filesystem" section you will find this "Other Files", you have to add the correct permissions there so it can find your directories, i mostly activate only "/home", i do add another "other files" entry to my "/mnt" directory, you can be more specific and add only the drive you mounted example "/mnt/Files"

But after is setup, you are ready to go and its remembered, there is even a tool to backup all your flatpaks and restore it on a new install of a subsequent newer version of your system, instead of you reinstalling everything and configuring from scratch, you can reinstall all at once using one tool, it isn't ridiculous, its security...

I have to say that I find your language pretty harsh. Yes, there are a lot of problems with many applications for Linux, but keep in mind that most applications are written by developers in their spare time and provided for free. Some things that are not important to you may be important to others. Also, things in development are not always as simple as they may seem Personally, I still wouldn't recommend Linux to many people, because if something breaks, many people can't recover from it. Windows is still easier to use than Linux in many ways (at least if you do more than write documents and surf the internet) However it is always interesting to see how people experience their first steps in linux

This is who i am i am honest to the core and that won't change because someone gets upset at me because how people feel is not my concern. linux has major issues and i will speak out about them and not baby the issue like most FOSS apps have major issues that are never resolved. it won't change not talking about it.
@WhyIsThisSO-zr5uu
@WhyIsThisSO-zr5uu 9 сағат бұрын
@@Mattscreative Yes, we should talk about the problems. But you're speaking in a very blameful way here, which doesn't help anyone except that the developers in question might feel offended. Even if you don't care how other people feel, you can still be considerate.

Now that's really interesting, you brought me something i didn't know about the ZLUDA project, hope it goes all the way, since i think this is one of the problems of the AMD GPU's relying on old OpenCL even if ROCm/HIP works somehow, people will consider more the possibility of buying an AMD GPU card for work and not only for gaming. i know you have the latest Nvidia 4000 gpu's so you have AV1 hardware acceleration for encoding, but for decoding the first model that supports decoding is 2070 and 2050... 2060 doesn't because it came first (i have one, i am poor person from brazil), so people who has cards older than that will have problems with your video because it will use software rendering, at least into high resolutions, that is only one of the drawbacks of this codec (for now), but i think youtube does convert to H265 and VP9 anyways.

The main issue I've had in Linux is playing games remotely. My gaming rig is an HTPC. On Windows, using Sunshine to stream from the PC and Moonlight as a remote client worked pretty flawlessly. I just wanted to mention that your rant about keybindings is wrong. It's not "the way that Linux goes." This has nothing to do with Linux developers as a whole stalling things and everything to do with GNOME developers stalling things. There is a reason why a lot of long time Linux users hate GNOME and its developers. You are experiencing one of those reasons now with keybindings.
