Awesome stuff as always. Sometimes I also love subtly animating the luminance of some of the background painted highlights, so the bokeh vibrates a little bit giving a organic touch. Thks 4all Alex

Thank you. I’ve long wondered how blended shadows were created. It’s one of those subtle effects that really drive the realism to the next level.

Hi, I was wondering, is the only way to view part 2 to purchase the whole beginer bundle?
@CompositingAcademyАй бұрын
Hey Mickey, The bonus projects can be grabbed here if you just want those lessons and already are familiar with the beginner concepts: The projects include: 1. Using 3D Geometry, Facetracking, and Smartvectors, and LookDeving an Energy Cracking Effect 2. Advanced Edge Extend Fixes & a Beginner CG Integration Project 3. Beauty work Techniques + Footage to practice 4. Mocha Planar Track + Advanced Paint Cleanup (this video, plus the footage and an additional tutorial) All of the projects include CG assets, footage, and in some cases Nuke scripts. All of the assets can be used for your demo reel as well. They also include additional course lectures and content that is not available anywhere else. courses.compositingacademy.com/purchase?product_id=5625720 Cheers!

Did you try cropping to just the logo area then running a camera solve on it? From there you can generate a point cloud/mesh that you could use to place a cylinder in for the bucket and let the camera do the tracking work.
@CompositingAcademyАй бұрын
That could potentially work as well. Usually I try to avoid 3d stuff if I can just because I prefer getting a quick cornerpin then painting, but the method you're suggesting or Keentools would probably both work too

Hey Alex! I have your courses on Udemy. Will the Rotopaint update be on there when it's finished?
@CompositingAcademyАй бұрын
This is part of a new bonus projection section that includes a variety of new projects. There's an upgrade option available for previous users who accessed the videos on Udemy and want to gain access to the additional projects, footage, and tutorials. If you're interested, please send an email. Cheers!

Mocha is the only thing I miss from after effects, maybe one day I'll cop it for nuke
@NitishHemwaniiАй бұрын
Why didn't you use smart vector?
@CompositingAcademyАй бұрын
When there are occlusions (objects passing over the tracking area) smartvectors will break. Also smart vectors don't like light changes very much either. If this were a deforming surface you could try something like the Mocha Power Mesh which is kind of like subdivided planar tracker.

For the frequency separation you can also use the Laplacian Node, which does exactly the same as a blur minus, but in just one node. I thought it could be an interesting information to be shared 😊

Is it possible to re-create this on After Effects as well?
@thefosterhousevfxАй бұрын
I've been screaming for an edge extend for After Effects for well over a decade. Thank you for a concise professional level use case.
@ASKVFX18 күн бұрын
I feel your pain. The work around I've used is applying a simple choker in the negative direction to extend the edge and a separate solid to apply the roto as a matte. An edge extend in after effects is a long time need.

Hello, Alex! Can you tell me the name of the warm-colored light in the video? Or can you tell me the number of Kelvin's? (The light on the right at around 1:44 of Time!)

All of this just for a gradient color? Didn`t foundry in 3 years released a simple gradient node?
