Share the trails has a new meaning haha! All kinds of critters on this ride for sure. The connecting road was still cool. I carry a chainsaw most of the time and rarely need it. When I don't carry a chainsaw...that's when I need it. Law of averages is suppose eh? :) Going over the narrow log bridge was a challenge. Fun ride for a challenge photo! Thanks for sharing.

Awesome and glad to see you riding and posting videos again. While much of Airline trail is upper intermediate, there are definitely some worn out steep rocky and root sections as shown in your vid. Glad to see you make it. Good job!

Nice riding! Always wondered what this trail was called. I did the first half solo a few years ago and when I got to the road I had had enough. After seeing this video I clearly made the right choice 😂

Go into Garden Valley and the road just before Great Scotts gas station (if your heading east) head up that road. turn left on Cow Creek and follow it back to the trail head. You can access the official trail from that road. Its on the MVUM map also. OnX has not updated there map for that trail yet. If you go to moto Idaho on the web I am working up a ride review that will be posted with all the parking spots and clickable map details.

The clean are valve is really just a hack. It doesn't reduce emissions. It there so the bike can pass emissions inspections. It basically thins out the emissions by adding air to dilute the emissions to a number that is an accepted value per volume of air. I get what you mean about the man hours and stuff. But It would make more sense for time to be spent on it to actually make a difference rather than it not really doing anything. It really means that the emission policing doesn't isn't doing anything if that hack is enough to pass. How many other hacks are being done by other vehicles then. They aren't making the environment better if this passes and you know they know that vehicles do this. It just makes you have to pay more because a company had to create this and some areas you now have to pay for an inspection that is being bypassed by a few tubes.

What time of year was your trip and do you think that I can get to the top/end of rd (Dewey Mine area) in first week of October with a UTV?
@PistonSlap
@PistonSlap 6 ай бұрын
September is about as late in the year as I ride in the backcountry. I would imagine October on a UTV would be fine the higher elevations might see snow but that really depends on what kind of weather during the time. I check the weather constantly leading up to my trips and adjust the routes accordingly.

Spent many years in Yucca area,from around late 93-16,,,our friends and my brothers and i,drive many times up to the mines,back in 97 my brother got 10 goldfish for a buck at Walmart, so we eventually put some in our water tanks that we had for the small gardens we had made, and seen that they were quite hardy,we introduced our close friends to putting goldfish in the cow troughs and water tanks around the area,cause they eat the misquote larvae and algae and need very little oxygen,,, one day ,sometime I believe in 2001 or so they put the goldfish in the upper and the lower ponds,amazing thier still alive and doing well,of course, these are probably the 30th or something generation, their still is gold up in these here hills⛏💰🐠🏞,anyway, I enjoyed your video, it sure is great riding a motorcycle on these here rough roads than any 3 or 4 weeler,it can weeve right through the rocks and anything else that may be in the way,I know well what you had to go through driving on these roads, you had to stop to cool the motor cause hardly any air flow on the motor, same here,especially in the summer time,we usually started out before the came up,so it was cooler,,,crazy thing also,it must've been in 96 our family went up the front way or opposite way from the way you drove, through this here road coming from the haulippai mountain park through mountain roads to Yucca, this though we went in an old rundown 1973 dodge rear wheel, (no 4 wheel) van,which took a quart of oil every 20 miles,no spare wheel,all the tires not the greatest traction, 9 people in the van,no cell phones either and tools too,drove Alright until we came on a sharp turn upward with steep drop offs put the pedal to the metal and there was no error for margin, dad said it was as if angels were helping push it up that steep grade,I was there and quite in a sweat,and to verify or magnify the miracle of the event,we went maybe about a mile when a jeep was coming towards us from the direction you were driving and met him right at a place in the road where it widening out for us to pass,cause if he was coming down that road the same time we were going up,we might've hesitated and we might've rolled right on down the steep dropoff, crazy,yet we seen God be merciful to our stupidity, ,,I'm glad I seen all those places before the history of the place got contaminated,it still is there though,and am glad you made this here video, just shows that when all is said and done,that the living gold will endure 😉🐠💰⛏maranatha

It depends on if there is a legal easement and how the property lines are. The easement might also state for fire and forest services, that does not mean it's for public use. I'm in the process of buying some land that the previous owner had built a road and allowed the public to use to be able to get to the river at the pack of the property. And another that allowed the neighbor to cut through to access the same spot on the river, where people have used to put their boats in There is no easement so it would be my discretion to allow or not anyone from using it. Now there is a boat landing across the river, and it would make these people have to travel over 20 minutes to get to it. Now my plans are to build my house on this over 300 acres and close the roads down. so I can fence the land and not be bothered. And that is my right to do so since the public who has used the roads don't legally have a right to use the land.

maybe it is better not to fill radiator with coolant till the cap, than start the engine and see how thermostat is taking coolant from reserve tank that way it will be no air bubbles in system. Just start the bike with open radiator cap. Yes or no ?

Also with the cap off and watching the coolant movement for the thermostat, you might boil the system. Having the cap on but not locked all the way on will let it push air and liquid back to the reservoir.

I've had piles of bikes, ridden forever, worked in the motorcycle industry for decades. The DRZ400 is a great trail bike and can be ridden very fast. Or trail ridden. Great do it all machine. Excellent easy to use motor, great and forgiving suspension with a wide range of adjustment, good brakes. Does not feel heavy to me but I am a very good rider with 42 years of continuous riding. I ride a lot and a lot of bikes. This is a good one.
