Wow, shocked that Rotten Tomatoes was around back in 2002, and even more surprised that it was being mentioned in 2002.

I've never seen so many people walk out before a movie was over than at Grand Canyon. I didn't like it either.

It’s good to know that even back then, stuff like VR and 3D were being seen for what they were, gimmicks.

I was born in 1980 so I appreciate this as it takes me down memory lane, I remember watching these when Siskel was still around but stopped about a year in as I didn't care about their opinions anymore and just watched movies myself, but anyway, thanks for the memories.

"Reckless" was actually really good. It's a coming of age of 2 high school kids who suddenly connect intensely and make each other feel alive in a small midwestern steel town. They aren't supposed to be perfect, and especially in Johnny's case, sometimes not even likeable. He is clearly depressed because his mother left him and his alcoholic, abusive dad. Johnny is isolated by the judgements of his classmates and teachers, though he seems to be doing the best he can and spends his nights looking out over the town that he doesn't feel connected to and feels no future in. Tracey is set up for success with well off parents and the star football player boyfriend who is excited by the corporate opportunities he sees in his future. She isn't excited by or connected to either her pampered and planned out life or the boyfriend. Tracey and Johnny come together and see something in the other that makes Johnny feel vulnerable, seen, and cared for, and Tracey feel free, excited, and.....yes, reckless. If you grew up in one of these towns you probably love this movie <3

Sure i miss Siskel and Ebert, but i REALLY miss having so many movies come out each year. All we get now is a dozen or two marvel comic book reboots.

Obviously these two guys never played in a band and hit that first song at rehearsal and got the goosebumps when it sounded great! A very special feeling if you’ve ever experienced it!

The Lieutenant Dan band played at my base, a mile from my barracks, when I was in basic training. We were obviously not allowed to attend, and lights out was around the time that the band started, but I heard a little bit of "it ain't me" as I fell asleep.

I've just watched a bunch of these with S&E, this is the first one without Gene, and MAN do I miss their dynamic. I loved how the two of them would just get under each other's skin just for fun. Can't believe Siskel was only 53 when he died. RIP to both.

I remember seeing Little Princess in the theater as a small boy and not being entertained. I think I was too stoked on stuff like Power Rangers, Batman and other action oriented stuff. Plus I vaguely remember siding with the villain in the movie because the girl wasn’t doing the things like they were supposed to be done. Ive grown since then and of course sympathize with the girl. Maybe I was really dumb as a kid, or I had no sense of creativity.

LOL Ebert doesn't hold back arguing with Siskel, even when Siskel was ill. I always preferred Ebert's taste over Siskel's but I miss both a lot.

It's insane to me how these guys would spoil movies. Like, saying that the characters in the Pelican Brief stay one step ahead of the assasssins is a massive spoiler. Sure, you might expect that, but you sure as heck could write this movie to where one of them ends up dead.
