What's up broncos guru. Love your channel. It's really cool. I've been watching it for a couple years now. Lately, though I find myself getting madder and madder at these googans so I had to take a break from your channel.

You trust a Fery crossing Captain, minimum wage earner as Captains go, to manage a navigable waterway this way. There should be a signal system to avoid exactly this idiocy. Were the ferry operators Charged with reclass operation of the crossing in a COURT of Marine Law/ Maritime courts?? If not, the guy is a dumb cop that flipped the boat. I spent 4 years in the navy and we only ran into Giant Seas that turned us over. Seeing 17 Sailors fly through the Air was a thing I will never get over.

I had a friend in my 20s who invited me out to party on his “boat”. It was actually his dad’s and he sunk it on a lake outside of Omaha. I lost a 20 bag of weed and a dozen beers. I was pretty bummed.

Its spooky going down in Italy. As we know the captains there dont care about or are responsible for crew or passengers. In fact the Italian captains are the first to abandon ship.

Going through the Blynman canal from the ocean side in a cruising sailboat is a nightmare, because typically you wait until all the power boats have gone through, and they churn the water up so that it's difficult to maintain forward momentum against the chop. Been there, done that.

The cop saw the signs but thought he was better than everyone else and can plow through anywhere he wants to because he has a gun and a badge. See how fast he was going? nobody gonna make me believe that he didn't know there was a crossing there. He should be charged with reckless boating and fired. Buuuuut he won't even get a ticket

Listen to the video again. The sailboat shown RESCUED the guy in the water. The CG took him off, and back to his vessel which I assumed was the one that had lost propulsion. At least that's the way I understood it. And yes, a sailboat that loses propulsion is a sailboat with no sails. MY SAILS FELL IN THE WATER, I HAVE LOST PROPUSION.

The reason that the sailboat is being labeled as having no propulsion even though it has a sail up is that in a man-overboard situation unless you have winds an luck on your side, you're going to lower the sails and fire up the motor. I presume what they mean is that the engine can't run. Sailboats under sail are far less maneuverable than powerboats, hence why they are the stand-on vessel when encountering a powerboat, which is the give-way vessel. It would likely take a lot of tacking and gybing and a lot of time to get a sailboat under sail to rescue a person overboard, especially since that person is also moving with wind and current. My position is always that if we are under sail and you are in the cockpit, then you WILL wear a PFD at all times. You can take it off in the cabin and you can take it off when we're motoring (I keep mine on), but sailing is often less predictable than powerboating and there are a lot more moving parts and lines in and around a sailboat cockpit than in a powerboat. Besides, wearing a light self-inflating PFD is hardly even noticeable. (And for people uncomfortable with sailing, that lack of noticeability means they are often more comfortable in a traditional PFD, which I'll also offer them.)

I practiced MOB a few times when I had a sailing boat, not using the engine and I think it worked quite OK. It depends on how close you have to get and if you need to be able to stay in one place for some time, in that case, the engine is a great advantage.
@nelson2231
@nelson2231 Күн бұрын
It's really not that difficult in moderate conditions. My guess would be the MOB was the only one on the boat that knew how to sail it
