$15k one way for one person? I am chomping at the bit to go back to Japan (I have been there twice), but round trip for me and my wife in first class would put me over $60k for that flight. I could save every single paycheck for the next one and a half years and still not come up with that kind of money.

I flew scoot BKK - SIN - SYD in "scoot plus".. Was the most horrible flight in my life, the food was just as horrible as yours, that seat gets very uncomfortable after about 2 hours, they set the air conditioning so cold to sell more blankets.. Never again.

Love your posts Paul. Travelled o'seas 10 years ago and missed out on a journey because it finished in the off season. It went from Milan (I think), through Stresa and Domodossola in the alps, into Switzerland and then getting the ferry through Lago Maggiore back to Stresa. If ever you get the chance would love to see it.

There has been a private bus company (Vermont Transit) serving this route for 100 years. Now Amtrak comes along, subsidized by taxpayers, and steals the business away from the bus line. I would not be surprised if Vermont Transit suspends the service.

I am not flying with them again, they book my family tickets all separately so my 10year old couldn’t be seated with me and my husband. They didn’t link his ticket to us, they sold ticket to 10 year old child to fly internationally by himself, not sure how that is legal. Then they made us pay extra money to link our child to us, and after we paid for everything they said that they still couldn’t link my child to my our my husbands ticket. What a nightmare, not using them again.

It doesn't really make sense to take the train when the airfares are just as cheap and much quicker? If you're here on a holiday why waste 12 hours on a train when you can get to your destination in 1 hour?

Having just travelled the Canadian we also stopped when passing the train going in the opposite direction and we handed over some pork loin as they were running low! A wonderful trip but it is said that the sleeper cars are being replaced in about 8 years time.

I wish there was a west coast equivalent. Glasgow to London and maybe go through Manchester, rather than around it. Could a competitor to both Avanti and TPE. I like the idea some open access operators do in Europe with using old but modernised coaches with a electric loco on the front. They could have a couple of additional services extending up from Glasgow to Inverness, though the route through Glasgow could be convoluted.

Flew Breeze Ascent from LAS to ORF. The wifi was great. Could stream or even play games over it. The 220's are awesome and a breath of fresh air.

I traveled in air India business class from Mumbai to jfk. Worst experience . Headphones socket and phone charger were not working . Had watch silent movies in 15 hours flight. Flights was delayed more than six hours. Well done TATA .congratulations

one time an older gentleman was being deliberately rude to me because we had a double booked seat. I was trying to be amicable about the situation but he got the staff involved. He reseated me in a new reserved, apologised and gave me free largar all the way to edi, which they really didnt have to do but was a really nice gesture. in general id say their staff a way nicer than LNER.
