Most through hike from Sylvan Lake to Black Elk Peak on KZfaq. I think I have a good idea of the terrain with your video and I think my family of 5 can make it. We have children and I always thought, if the trail was kids friendly. Thanks.

I'd say kids friendly if they are good hikers. Some kids can barely walk half a mile and some do 10 miles and are happy campers while doing it. I found out about this hike from another KZfaqr and he did this hike with his kids.

why dont you just put the windslayer on instead of cutting it and put on the silicon case? curious.
@bavarianbynature

legit question. Installing the windslayer is a pain and it feels like it can tear and eventually will. And you have to remove it every time you need to change the battery or memory card.

@@bavarianbynature Yes I watched. What I meant is that you can do the same thing with windslayer. You can cut those part so you dont have to take the windslayer out? I'm just curious if why you didnt use the windslayer, is it performance issue? and doing like your way is better than just the windslayer? I honestly grateful for this video because I'm currently only using the windslayer but the noise is still coming in even tho not a lot so I want to get an idea if this way is better or not making much difference :)
@bavarianbynature
@bavarianbynature 2 ай бұрын
@@LyonJerry Yes you can. The wind noise would probably be the same. I guess it comes down to personal preference. I never cared for the windslayer, it makes the camera more bulky and you have to be more careful with it. My gopro would also not fit in my small camera case with it. I think if you cut the windslayer open to access the battery compartment it will probably fall apart after removing it from the camera a few times (like when you want to remove it for under water use). At the time I made the video the windslayer I had didn't even allow you to see the front screen but they have different ones now.

The plaque is incorrect. The entire Andes Mountain range is east of there. One more thing, when I come across debris on a trail, I remove it. I would have moved that fallen tree off the path.

in western south dakota, they advise not to move anything off of the trails since rattlesnakes are abundant in population. you should always check with the local guides, sometimes it’s okay to move things and other times you should move around them, could save your life on future hikes!

Did this hike with my family: four kids ages 8, 10, 12 and 14. Without water or snacks 😬 pushed through and it was worth it! My husband did it twice with only a day of rest in between the hikes. Definitely something we will never forget.

Glad I bought the 2 pack…lol,just in case I screw up the first one. I was using the foam from a set of old headphones for my GoPro 11 and cut them to size,taped them on with electrical tape. The foam wasn’t thick enough,but it did make a difference. I just ordered the windscreen today. Gonna give this a go 👍

These buildings are totally fabricated out of whole cloth. They were likely outlaw hideouts with very basic foundations, after the roof collapsed on part of it, someone started building these. Go back and look at photos from the 1880’s and you’ll see this has become a total tourist trap...

this is genius! I love the use of the silicon sleeve the most about this idea, as I've stuck deadcats directly to my gopro and as other have said, they don't work particularly well... and when they do finally stick they're very hard to get off when it's time to replace them. I'm going to give the foam a go instead of the deadcat too, your test was very impressive.

Excellent video. Takes me right out there with you. Years ago I started up that creek from the visitors center with a friend. I dropped out at the first (last) water fall. He missed the exit and was wandering up the creek all day. The rangers had tried to find him, at 6 p.m. they were prepared to go into the creek to find him. He came out almost into Torrey and was trying to hitch hike back to the visitors center when I found him on the road.

BTW..that front little grill is the speaker..it's not a mic - And I just realized the GoPro8 has its charging USB C plug inside the battery door.. that SUCKS.. You can't film while you're wired up for power.. My Go Pro5 and Go Pro 7 both have the USB C plug apart from the battery door.. and I film the whole day with a plugged in Go Pro.. - why would they do that???? So much for upgrading!

@shahedameer 2 жыл бұрын
Actually the front grille is one of two microphones on the GoPro Hero 8 (the second microphone is on the left side, below the mode button). The speaker is on the bottom of the camera, under one of the mounting fingers. This info is from the user manual. You can confirm it too by blocking the grille in the bottom while playing back a video on the GoPro (you'll see the playback sound is muffled when you cover the grille on the bottom of the camera)

I had the Media Mod. The sound quality of the internal mic is better (there are many other videos about it). Mod doesn't come with a windscreen. So if you only want the media mod for the microphone I wouldn't recommend it.
