Hello and thank you for this very educational tutorial. However I am using version 2.9 and the rendering of the last sample file returns an error line 135 of the .csd "scanu iInit".

@@tjingboem5447 Thank you for your prompt response. I have reproduced the last example you give, Steven Yi's composition at the end of the video : OnTheSensationOfTone. This example generates the error I mentioned on my installation of Blue. I tried with another example file "etude" and I get the same error. I haven't found any other examples with this error yet!

@@jeanargenty i can not reproduce the error. I can run the piece without any mentioning scanu iInit and ythe piece finishes without issue. Perhaps you can ask on the forum forum.csound.com/c/blue/10 or discord.com/channels/784849854270537790/784852100257021954

The purpose of putting up a video like this seems obscure. As you know, Blue does not run and cannot be made to run on either Windows or Mac OS X. I have tried repeatedly to get Blue to run, and Steven Yi has also tried. He was unable to get Blue to run in any way, shape, or form on either Windows 7 or Mac OS X 10.13. I get that it must be a fun practical joke to put up videos like this. Enticing people to try to do something which is impossible doubtless has its (minor) amusement value, as we can see with pranks like the programming language Malbolge, a language designed to make it impossible to write programs. Sure, OK, haha. Slightly amusing. The amusment value of a prank like this remains negligible, however. And it's baffling that someone would go to this lengths simply to perpetrate a practical joke involving a vaporware program which, as you know, does not run, and which the programmer himself cannot get to run.

TL;DR: Use a a version of operating system that is supported by their manufacturer's as that is what I target for support. Longer reply: You comment is not accurate and I'm surprised by the tone of your message. You do know that both Windows 7 and OSX 10.13 are long past end-of-life meaning they both Microsoft and Apple do NOT support those operating systems and they advise upgrading. Supporting multiple operating systems is hard enough that I'm not going to also support versions that are no longer supported by their manufacturers. I can not even install these operating systems to try to diagnose issues. Blue does indeed run on macOS and Windows; at least the current development build works on both and I have helped people in the past year to use it. I use Blue myself on an Arm M1 Mac as well as x86_64 Windows 10. I had to take time away from Blue and Csound development the past year but as I am getting back into development now it's a bit infuriating to read your wild accusations and I find them both unhelpful and offensive. To say I can not get this to run on Windows or Mac is simply untrue.

@@StevenYi This is a fundamentally dishonest reply and essentially untrue. If we applied this to Csound, we would expect Csound not to run under Windows XP or Windows 7 or Windows 8. Csound runs perfectly on all these operating systems. If we applied your logic to Csound on the Mac, we would expect Csound not to run under Mac OS X 10.11, 10.12, 10.13, 10.4, or any version of OS X less than the latest version required by the latest M1 Macs. Out here in the real world, Csound runs on all these operating systems for the obvious reason that almost no one has an M1 Mac and almost no one runs Windows 11. The plain fact of the matter is that Blue does not run on any version of Mac OS X or any version of Windows that I have encountered. You were unable to get Blue to run any verison of Mac OS X or any version of Windows that I have observed. I have not seen hard evidence of Blue running on *A*N*Y* version of Windows or *A*N*Y* version of Mac OS X as far as I can tell. We hear anecdotal claims from you that Blue runs on your "custom Csound build on a Mac M1." Really? Where's the proof? This sounds like the classic claims made for vaporware. It's another Theranos-type situation. Just come clean and admit that Blue is not yet working, and probably never will work. Blue is obviously just another pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey degenerating reserach project by coders who can't get the code to run.

Thanks very much for these incredibly clear videos. I'm just (re)starting to learn Csound (in the past, the time consuming nature of score re-arrangement in Csound Qt stopped my exploration of this incredibly powerful programme) - Blue seems to address those drawbacks extremely well, and your videos are very helpful.
