Both rear air struts are down, not the front. Compressor wont turn on. Should i change compressor, relay, and valve body. 2005 E500 thanks.

Whenever you change the compressor, also change the relay! If the valve body has never been replaced, then I would recommend to swap it out. I bought a valve body from Amazon for about 60 euro, which is working well 👍

@@NDPhotonlactually the compressor works, but its no consistent. The relay is fine. I think its the inlet hose because its torn. Thats why there is no air going inside. I may have to change the piston if its damaged.

@@jerry5876 If you want to keep the Wabco, its a good economical choice to rebuild it. I went for an aftermarket cheap unit, which is also a fine solution. Keep us updated and good luck!

Note: You must also remove the plastic on the top of the hood or the first 4 rows of that intercooler will not get any air to it. The hood is designed for that smaller intercooler. I removed mine and added a 1"x1 1/2" piece of dense foam rubber to channel the air to the entire intercooler. This also gives you a larger amount of air from the hood scoop as well.

You don't need to. The cover is simply clicked into place. If you want to remove the knob, you need to remove this cover first I think

When the springs break, it causes a lot of havoc. Check MBworld.org, there are a couple of cases where it happended, rupturing the oil lines, breaking the belts, puncturing the bonnet. While it isnt that common, it usually happens with aftermarket pulleys. I bought it as a cheap insurance policy (they are about 150 EUR/USD)

Whats the diff betwen 55 and 63 i know its just the litres but is it performance or sound wise different?

Many differences. 6.2 liter NA v8 engine vs 5.4 liter supercharged v8. @amgmeister has done an extensive comparison: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o7l4ltV619Wqknk.html . CLS63 has better sounding mufflers and is a little bit harder to tune out of the box (without slapping an supercharger on). 55 is easier to tune due to forced induction. 63 has a newer 7 speed gearbox, 55 has older 5 speed gearbox which can handle the high torque reliably (700Nm)

Could be that there is more to it. If you never replaced the compressor, then it makes sense to replace it on a +10 year old car. In your case, I would also suspect the valve block. I replaced it with a 40$ unit from Amazon which works just as well. Personally, I would also replace the compressor and relay in your case. The Airmatic system is not that daunting, it only has a couple of components and is quite simple.

Check the results which were measured in the thread on MBWorld. Even though that also would be my first guess, the results are very interesting. If the car is moving the incoming air does not have a time to heat up extra in the engine bay (only by the supercharger), meaning the IAT can be the same as with a normal intake. When the car is stationary, then the incoming air has time to heat up extra before its sucked into the airfilter.

Yes would 100% only recommend when moving but for long periods that will be an issue. I have a k&n typhoon mounted into the back where the stock is with a cut out and it makes the supercharger very loud. Probably a better bet

I put a larger Ebay intercooler on my r53 as well, but the airflow is not as smooth. The stock intercooler uses a tapered inlet/outlet and the Ebay intercoolers just have a flat edge leading into it. I also have an aftermarket TPE supercharger intake so I will loosen the throttlebody bolts and loosen the intake manifold horn to slide it over on the studs a bit. Really helps with getting the intercooler correctly seated and prevent damaging the boots.

100% correct, that is the tradeoff of this cheap intercooler. I never saw pictures from the other intercoolers like Airtec, but I can imagine they have a better internal design. Thanks for your message Hosteggy!

@@Hosteggy the boost issue is due to the aftermarket intercooler not getting all the air to it. with the piece of plastic on the inside of the hood it blocks off 4 rows of air to that bigger intercooler. To solve this remove that piece and use 1x1.5" foam rubber to direct all air to it. Also by doing this you also open up the scoop inlet by a inch top and sides. You would have a throttle body that only opens 75%. Your doing the same thing for the intercooler with all the air getting to it.

@@garydavies3984 @garydavies3984 Quality was very good for the pricepoint. I paid about 115 GBP (about 135 euro today), which I think is a steal. Fitment was about 97%, very small modifications needed. You can also go for something like Airtec, but it comes at a higher price point off course. Thanks for your message 👍!

That means that the fiber optic loop isnt functioning correctly. Could be a wire break or the Audio gateway (AGW) isnt functioning properly. I believe the AGW is the master component of the fiber optic loop. Is your radio etc working properly?

If im start the radio the amg logo shows up for 10 second and after 10 second shuts off int radio the otpical fiber shows red light but if i go to the trunk like in your video 0:19 red light no shows up

@@W219TONY can you get it scanned? I think the root cause will be mentioned there. The AGW knows which fiber optic components are in the loop and coded as such. If one of the components is failing, then it should detect which component it is.

Correct, they are your basic 12v fans that you buy for cooling your computer. Glad to be of help, they do make a big difference compared to the tiny stock fans

Dit is veeeeeel beter dan elke maloot een straightpipe gooien met een cutout. Niet te luid maar diep. als je echt dik wil gaan kijk je ff of je een betere nok as kan halen. dan krijg je de beste stationair geluid vooral bij v12 maatje.

Mine was a little different to your video, mostly the same just I had 2 of those 13mm nuts on top of each other and the second one was a bi*** to get off, and the e5 on mine was Philips which was a good thing cos I don’t have an e5 socket 😂😂 a great video though thanks for your help!

Nope, not at all. The CLS is well isolated and the exhaust note with stock exhaust is very refined. I ended up adding cutouts, but I cant really drive on the freeway with the valves open because of the drone. See: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rKpxhrClnq2sqn0.html

@@tonistaru Yes you can, as long as you pass the yearly inspection (called APK) you are fine. You are correct, in reality I always pull up to the checking station and inspection is done very shortly after, so no issues are to be expected. SAI is for warming up the cats quicker so harmful gases are kept to a minimum. And most garages will want you to pass, so they let the car warm up or do some mild driving before doing the inspection.
