Wow, great episode! I stopped flying in 2015 for various reasons and now, at 71, the desire is rekindled. The Carbon Cub is very compelling. I've got to get back into it while I'm still young!

This is such an exciting development, avgas lead emissions are driving efforts to close several airports here in California. Poor health long ago struck down any chance that I had to own even an ultralight, but I'm really curious to see someone fit a DHK180 to a European Scalewings P-51 replica. Our friends across the pond get retractable landing gear, while U.S. rules require fixed, and they've got a model that's rated for up to 250 horsepower, so when the DHK235 becomes available ...

"I FEEL We must respect these Pilots- (Builders) everyone. Whereas? They put their home build prototype aircrafts to the ultimate test by overcoming all legs of the tedious journey to present their item to the presidential host of Oshkosk spectators, and business investors alike. I strongly support all colorful Entries. The Builders work and innovative input in all designs(Air-Frame & Powerplant) is not overlook in relation to the item presented. Know that you are all highly appreciated." 👍

When I was a newly minted CFI at SIU in Carbondale I met a guy who was handicapped from the waist down. When we were talking the first question he asked me was, could I teach him how to fly? I didn’t say no I just asked him to give me some time to think about it and research airplanes. I was totally stumped. Then , as if a bolt of lightening sticking the ground, I saw an article about the ERCO Ercoupe. Now the Ercoupe does not have rudder pedals and it does have very adequate hand controls. It can be challenging in a cross wind but, it’s a good solid platform for someone handicapped. I had the answer. No one at SIU or in the area had a Ercoupe for rent. I told him and he actually went out, found an airplane and bought it. I had to get my checkout and I admit it was a whole new learning curve for me. His upper body strength was unbelievable and he had no problems hoisting himself up and in. He had a racy kind of wheelchair that fit perfectly behind his seat. He was the best student I ever had; came everyday , always on time and studied like a maniac. He went all the way and got his Private Pilot License. You never saw anybody so happy to fly his own airplane. It was all him. The day he took his checkride and passed I literally wept tears of joy. I just provided the route and the means he had the desire and ambition.

Risen is a very capable simple plane but ffs should not cost 350k. And Mosaic is still only something that will be indefinitely? not something that is announced now.

Thanks for this video. I'm especially interested in the DeltaHawk engines, so it's cool to hear they're perfecting the final design. Also, I'm very impressed with the looks, price, and performance of the Risen; I just wish they'd offer it in a kit since I don't have $300K+ in my pocket. Or perhaps some entrepreneurial company will offer something very similar in kit form someday? What an amazing view out the Risen's canopy. Anyway, thanks again for this news, and I'm really looking forward to all your upcoming content this week.

An awesome aircraft, but I can’t believe how the price of these things has gone up… I’m not saying that they’re not worth it, but the price is now way out of my reach…(I’m a 777 pilot)…

I remember that day vividly. I was a 727 flight engineer at the time at gate 66 at LAX ready to depart for SFO. We had just boarded all PAX and the Capt. delayed the departure to pipe the audio into the cabin of the landing on the Moon. History in the making and shared with all the PAX and crew. PSA mgt. never had an issue with the Capt. for the delay, the PAX loved it!

Neil Armstrong clarified that the quote was"Thats one small step for A man, one giant leap for mankind ". The "a" was lost in the garbled transmission. Love your show.

Experts have worked over the recording and verified that Armstrong may indeed have said "one small step for a man". But the raw recording makes it just about impossible to detect, so the story of the missing "a" has been around much longer than the expert opinion.

"I think it is a good job on what you(Mr. Kevin Jordan) and your company members did on the production development of the Stratos 714 Jet. I love the single engine profile. I feel we need more development such as this; It sets a bar and rides with a standard, and? That's a plus(+✓)recognizable." 👍

The parts are easy & cheap to find. It’s the certification process & paperwork that makes them valuable. These people are guilty of Faking the process & the paperwork for certification of real parts. And most of it is exotic metal alloys which can’t be printed (yet)

Zoomer and millennial kids aviation is NOT for you. Your entire generation is ill equipped to handle the disciplinary rigors required for safe operation. To use the term for astronauts in the 1960’s you have the Wrong Stuff. Its not entirely your fault, it is a generational thing. Texting and complaining is not adequate life preparation to solidify a sound basis to be a pilot. The license itself is not enough to keep you alive. Keep your barista job, keep protesting and stay away from aviation.

Why was this in aero news? Are these things human rated, are they good for sail planes? It just doesn't seem relevant. So some dude is making advanced micro turbines. What's the tbo? How much do they cost? I have so many questions and no answers.
