wow, it looks calm at over 300km/h. Impressive!

If you do some math, 0:36 @ 160 km/h - 1:36 @ 318 km/h, you'll find the guy drove for 1 minute at an average speed of approximately 240 km/h. This means he covered around 4 kilometres in that minute. That much of fuel for 4 kms at THAT speed (and high rpm) is acceptable for a car designed for tracks :)

Acceleration up to 200 km/h is spectacular, 200-250 km/h pretty decent but after 250 km/h in sixth gear there's no performance at all. :/

This old GT-R is insane. Obviously what I timed from this video will not be the most accurate but here is what I got: 0-100 km/h in 3.32 seconds and in total it went from 0-318 km/h in 57.95 seconds.

This is the fifth vid from this channel out of eight that ive gone trawlling since seeing this one, that has done the same thing.

Smooth clutch engaging, the clutch wasn't bouncing around like the Lexus LFA and it fully engaged at the right time the engine rev dropped just 500 rpm during launch. All it needs is more torque to keep the engine rev at same rpm during launch. Damn... The GR6 launch as good as PDK.

To be fair to all the Ferrari Fanboys here, the GTR is a lot slower beyond, lets say, 150 mph than most Ferraris are. Nobody is denying that. But for the price and the sheer technical achievement, the GTR is unrivaled. And come on. Ferrari owners are not all snobbish and arrogant. Some people just love the drama and the experience of driving one. My neighbor drives a 458 and he's a nice guy.

I have driven one, i love it, its priced right, and it has a usable boot and u can put people in the back, and its comfortable and goes like sh1t - awesome car, would buy one in a heartbeat!

the gtr's aerodynamics like the grooves and side mirror shapes are designed to funnel air to the rear spoiler which helps increase drag for better cornering, but that same drag reduces its aerodynamic efficiency at high speeds.

Look at the ratios employed on the 911 Turbo. It use relatively longer ratios from 1-3 and shorter ones from 4-6. This helps it achieve much higher top speed, but 0-60 times are still blisteringly fast because turbo engines reaches peak torque at relatively low rpms. Since the GT-R employs a similarly tuned power-plant, I think it's beneficial to use the same formula.

I kid you not. Motor Trend achieved those numbers, if I remember correctly. Motor Trend also achieved 2.8 secs with the Aventador, so they're even up until about 100mph, where the Aventador's power advantage takes hold. The GT-R is wickedly fast, there's no denying.

Look how much fuel it ate in just 1 minute. LOL. I personally don't like the front-end looks of the GT-R and for that reason, I wouldn't buy one even if I had the money. But you got to admit, it literally achieves the best performance at 1/4 the price of an Aventador. A piece of 1750kg metal doing 0-100km/h in less than 3 seconds yet not losing any cornering capability is true engineering. Anyone who questions the GT-R, don't know a damn sh-t about cars.

That is just crazy. I'm a mere mortal, as i believe most of us watching this are. I find extremely fun to SMASH the gas pedal of a 1.6 120PS car. Its a bit over the top to hit speeds in excess of 250 km/h. Heck, even 200 is a milestone for most. I've been there (213km/h on gps my current record) and i must tell everyone who hasn't: ITS AWESOME! Especially if you feel confident doing it, and if you actually know what you're doing. Better yet: DOING IT SAFELY, AWAY FROM PEOPLE

Im just an all around car lover. I love what the GTR is capable of but I think it would get boring to drive because electronics handle mostly everything. Its also one of the only supercars to ever have 4 doors. The cars with less stability and everything may be slower and harder to drive but that is what makes them fun and lets you perfect your skill. I wouldn't ever buy an expensive car like one of those Id rather buy a GTO or STI or whatever and build it myself. Way more fun that way.

Formula 1 cars are going to single turbo V6. And they only did that recently because of environmental reasons. The Toyota Supra and Skyline GTR were some the first ones to use twin turbo charging in a 6 cylinder application.

I really respect and am amzed at what Nissan has done with the GTR. I mean come on, the car weighs nearly 4000lbs and still bests supercars in acceleration and in corners and braking that weigh 3000lbs and have more hp. I think it would be fun to drive for a little bit but it would quickly get boring cause the computer is really the one driving it. Now watching high hp cars like a mustang or camaro launch and do a wheelie is exciting and is something the GTR will never be able to do. lol

Problem is: The GTR makes this incredible acceleration because of its weight. The chief engineer at nissan said that if they lower the GTR weight by 100kg, it will make 0-100 in 3.7 seconds. They wrote an article about it

I don't know what I was thinking on that price... You just get the alpha 6 package for around 8K which gives around 150whp reliably(which beats the Ferrari). Or you can get the Alpha 9 package for about $25k which gives over 1000whp and on pump gas do the 1/4 in under 10 secs... which blows away any Ferrari ever made.

I think so too! Because this car output 550 ch @ 6400rpm, if there is a 7th gear, and the rpm decreases to 6400 when shifting, the car can go faster!

You right but it's possible to reach veyron top speed on a deserted autobahn because the car will reach 400 km/h in just 30 second ! And also don't forget they made this car to be a work of art so it's worth the price if you judge it like art ;) R35 GTR is for me the best choice for people that want performance and reliability.

I believe there is a "Track Edition" for the 2014 model GT-R. There's no rear seats and i think there is some extra carbon fiber replacements, which the standard editions wouldnt have

when top gear interviewed the designer of the gtr he was saying that everyone who thinks that the gtr is too heavy is wrong and the weight is there for a reason. something about with down force of a race car it weighs the same as the gtr so the gtr needs less down force. its something like that i dont really remember.
