As far as in "write a conversation with your audience" is that an actual written text statement on your front page, could that be in the form of a visual message? I'm slightly confused on how to hold a conversation with your audience aspect of this video.

I believe what's meant by a conversation is ensuring consumers get the message of your product. So you may use slogans or quotes in your promotion to indirectly show the quality of your product and what it brings to the table. I think it also refers to personal selling and surveys/polls for market research in determining consumers' needs and wants, conveying a mutual understanding.

George Smith how else would you build a business then? You NEED some type of social media. It’s the exact same thing if you were to open a local store. Sure you’ll get some walk ins but you would still need to get the word out that you exist. Essentially for most business, advertising is a huge part of the whole business. Wether you advertise on a bill board or on Facebook. You’re gonna spend money advertising either way. However the advantage of advertising on Facebook is that you can target specific groups that you want to cater to which means a higher return of investment since you’re specifically targeting qualified buyers. When you start your own business you can’t be afraid of spending or loosing money. Now don’t go spending money stupidly but also know that with every business model there’s gonna be a risk factor. But it’s up to you wether you want to work the rest of your life for someone or you want to be in charge of your own life. Sounds harsh but it’s the truth. There’s always free alternatives but they require a lot of time, hard work, and patience. It’s only up to you what route you want to take.
