Hi Jonathan! Glad to see you've finally found a process to get the JHA wagons running properly! It's lots of work that you shouldn't have to do though! The new steamer looks at home on Endoor, and I hope it gives you many hours of excellent running! I've found that RoS are very good at addressing problems when they arise so even if their QC isn't always up to scratch, you're in safe hands! All the best, Ian.

Hi Ian! Yes, marketing them as "ready to run" seems like a bit of push, considering what's needed! I've mainly bought from Rails of Sheffield, Hattons or The Model Centre - thankfully they've all proven to be excellent at customer service, and I've made sure to be clear with them when I have problems that it's the fault of the manufacturer, so at least in the hobby we can be confident in the big retailers :) Take care

To do that amount of work on those JHA's is devotion - I would have sent them back. A small desktop vice would help enormously when doing those small fiddly jobs. That new loco looks really good and seems to be pulling its load very well indeed.

Hi Tony, It's felt like quite a lot of effort - I think to market these JHAs as "ready to run" is a bit of stretch! I generally prefer to send things back if they don't work, but in this case with so many of them having faults and knowing that it's been the same for other people, I think it was a case of either fixing them or not having any at all. It does make me sad how much effort we have to go to sometimes for expensive brand new things. Yes, in contrast the 28xx loco has been a joy straight from the box :)
