I am just preparing myself only because my 08 Dodge Caliber has drum breaks so I was a little scared thinking the 07 Toyota Highlander had the same! Okay hope you see this and can answer. I am prepared to change the struts and brakes - the rear caliber does NOT have to guide pin bolts. There is a lower one but the top (where a boot should be) is just metal with a boot behind...looks like the caliper pivots on it ///? Is this crazy ....maybe because its an AWD Limited ? 2001 - any help appreciated

I have a 02 Highlander 2wd and it has one lower bolt on the caliper and it rotates up, but it is stuck and won't come off. it rotates just fine but won't separate. I can't get the caliper to close now. It hits the edge of the pad. Help please? Thanks

Is the process the same for an 08 highlander hybrid?

Your year range is wrong. I've got an 02 highlander and I've only got 1 bolt on the caliper and then it flips up and slides off the the top pin.

I hope this is you’re car and you are doing this for yourself, the pad looked like it had plenty of meat on it,and the slides looked good and the rotor looks ok, parts for these Toyota’s are not cheep looks like you could have put this off for quite a few thousand miles and saved some money but to each their own who knows Maybe they were squeaking,

Don'r really need to dump half-a-can of Perc into the environment before starting the work.
